Young Dirty Bastard Releases Original SHINOBI Song Alongside New SHINOBI: Art of Vengeance Trailer, Available Now

Today, Young Dirty Bastard (YDB) of the Wu Legacy and son of Ol’ Dirty Bastard officially released a new original song titled “The Path Just Begun,” available now across music streaming platforms. Inspired and conceived by a partnership with SEGA®, the song celebrates YDB’s love for the legendary franchise.

To coincide with the song’s release, SEGA has debuted a new video that weaves YDB’s music and lyricism together with pulse-pounding gameplay footage from the newest game in the SHINOBI franchise, SHINOBI: Art of Vengeance™, launching August 29, 2025.

The YDB x SHINOBI partnership celebrates two parallel journeys as the mic is passed on to a new generation with YDB and Wu Legacy, and SEGA enters a new era with its beloved SHINOBI franchise. As one of SEGA’s most iconic franchises, SHINOBI is reimagined for a new generation of players with the upcoming SHINOBI: Art of Vengeance, mirroring YBD’s role as the next torchbearer of a musical legacy rooted in martial arts mythology, East-meets-West style and cultural defiance. Watch Yakuza Creator sing the Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania theme song

(Starts at the 11:45 mark of the video above)

SEGA has revealed the official theme song for Super Monkey Ball: Banana Mania with producer Masao Shirosaki along with ‘The Banana Fritters’ who are voice actors who also provide the voices for our Monkey heroes (and Baby) in the game.

The theme song for Super Monkey Ball: Banana Mania is being titled ‘Hello Banana!!” and debuted as a part of the Sega Atlus Tokyo Game Show 2021 live stream.

The Banana Fritters consist of:

  • Koichi Yamadera (voices Dr. Bad-Boon)
  • Noriko Hidaka (Voices AiAi, MeeMee and YanYan)
  • Toshihiko Seki (Voices Jet)

But during the video, if you look closely you will start seeing cameo appearances by big name SEGA creators singing along the chorus. Two of the big names are Toshihiro Nagoshi who is the creator of Daytona USA, Super Monkey Ball and Yakuza series. Masao Shirosaki who is the current series producer also makes a cameo appearance!

British Electronic Group Nero Releases a SEGA Inspired Music Video

British electronic act Nero used SEGA arcade games as inspiration for the video of their single “You and Me”. The video kicks off in an arcade containing games like Daytona USA 2, SEGA Rally 3, Let’s Go Jungle! and Rambo. A teenager walks around playing the games, until he spots a group of “cool dudes” (who I assume to be Nero) and he follows them out of the arcade to a back room which contains a Nero arcade machine, which plays a lot like Streets of Rage. The teen plays the game, a few more SEGA references ensue (“Are You Ready” replaces “Get Ready”) and then the video ends. I can’t say I enjoy the tune, sort of comes off as a four and a half minute intro to nothing, but I do appreciate the SEGA nods and it’s a worthwhile watch just for that. Though don’t expect the music to go anywhere. Honestly, I’d prefer it if they just remixed this awesome track.
