Sonic Colors screens look nice

Here are some Sonic Colors screens, same one as the ones in the Nintendo Power scans, only directly from the game. Obviously I got the screens from CVG, since they put their nice watermark all over the press screens. Thanks.

They also have the first preview for the game right here, if you are interested in that.

Sonic Colors turns Sonic into a light beam

Famitsu has given up some more Sonic Colors information, to feed all your Sonic loving thirst.  We already know that in Colors, Sonic teams up with aliens called Wisps to stop Eggman from building “Eggman Planet Park.” Which in my opinion sounds like a great park.

The Wisps in the game give Sonic special powers called “Color Power.” The White Wisp gives Sonic the power “Cyan Laser” which turns Sonic into a beam of light, which increases his speed and lets him bounce off walls.

In the game you will find Wisps in different colors, each offering their own unique ability. One that was mentioned before was the ability to dig underground. Other bit of information is that the DS version will span both screens and the Wii will have full 3-D maps. The game comes out in Japan this Winter.

SEGA confirms E3 line-up

SEGA has confirmed what they will show at the show, at least on the show floor. Meaning playable in some form.

  • VANQUISH
  • Conduit 2
  • Sonic Colors
  • Shogun 2: Total War
  • Tournament of Legends
  • Phantasy Star Portable 2
  • Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Ep 1

Pretty solid show floor line-up, of course, they will have some surprises for the press. It should be a fun E3 and we will obviously update you on what they have. E3 starts on June 15th and ends on the 17th.

New Sonic Colors info from Nintendo Power

[Pic not related, but colorful]

Nintendo Power previewed two zones, Sweet Mountain Zone and Tropical Reservoir Zone. They said Sweet Mountain was made up of mountains of pastries. Seems a bit childish, but moving on. Developers are focusing on level design, trying to satisfy old school Sonic fans (we have heard this before). 3-D levels have you running from point to point and compared to Sonic Unleashed’s daytime levels. DS version was compared to ‘Sonic Rush 3’, don’t know if this is a good thing.

2-D areas also featured more ‘platforming’. Tails is involved in the story, but not a playable character. Also Knuckles and Shadow may appear in the game, but not in playable form. Let’s be honest, don’t be shocked if they are in the game. The story will be ‘simple’.

Who is developing Sonic Colors?

So who exactly is making this game? SEGA have now revealed that Sonic Team will be developing the Wii version and DS version will be Sonic Team along side Dimps.

I’m assuming that the team doing the game is the same team that did the Story Book series of games. It would make the most sense.
