I recently took a trip to Canada and was surprised to learn that a key filming location for the Sonic the Hedgehog 2 movie was just eight minutes off our main route! Located in Fort Langley, British Columbia, Canada, this location was home to much of the Green Hills scenes in the sequel including the town hall, main street and Mean Bean coffee storefront. There has been many Sonic the Hedgehog clothing collaborations over the past few years, but any time shoes are involved there is always that hope that the collaboration will result in Sonic’s shoes. More often than not, it does not. On top of that, sneaker collaborations are usually region locked and very expensive. HAVING SAID ALL THAT, we finally have a Sonic sneaker collaboration that is (1) emulating Sonic’s shoe design and (2) is AFFORDABLE. Thanks to FILA and Paramount Pictures, the Sonic movie sequel will see a unisex slip on sneaker in the Ray Tracer Evo style that evokes the shoe Sonic wears in the films. While Sonic is not really wearing these in the movie, they are very close and as mentioned AFFORDABLE. Priced at $110, you can knock off an additional 25% for a total of $82.50. The Sonic movie sequel is almost here, and Paramount and musician Kid Cudi have dropped the end credits track “Stars in the Sky” along with a music video. The video above follows a similar format to the first film’s “Speed Me Up”, with pixel graphics and video game references. Check the video out for yourself, and you can hear the single on most streaming music services.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (the movie, not the game) is less than a month away, which means the marketing is really amping up! Toys are hitting shelves, a Happy Meal is releasing in April and Paramount just dropped a new poster, final trailer and AMC has announced a fan event! The trailer, seen above, showcases several news scenes and dips into some of the lore that the movie will drop. The poster, seen after the break, replicates the Sonic the Hedgehog 2 video game box art.
All this marketing sure makes you want to see the movie, right? Well AMC Theaters has you covered, because a fan event has been announced which allows early access to see the film on Wednesday, April 6. Showtimes appear to be at 6PM local times, and with your ticket you receive a limited edition comic book & exclusive collector print. You can buy tickets now over at AMC’s website.

Wow! What a night at the Game Awards! That one game won, and that lady got an award too! Okay, we don’t care about the awards. It was a trailer show, and Sonic fans had a plate full of footage to sift through! On this SEGA News Bits Live, Barry analyzes the trailers for Sonic Frontiers and Sonic the Hedgehog 2 the movie.

The expected and anticipated Sonic the Hedgehog 2 movie trailer debuted at the Video Game Awards, and it largely delivers! Sonic, Tails and Robotnik are all on display sporting refined designs thanks in large part to the movie not starting production with that wonky early design and Jim Carrey finally truly looking the part. What more, we get a look at Knuckles and hear more Emerald Hill Zone music. All-in-all, an impressive trailer. Though, the big question I have is will we return to Sonic’s world and explain that whole owl versus echidna thing? I guess we will find out on April 8, 2022.
The Sonic movie twitter account dropped a poster for the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and revealed that the first trailer debuts at the Game Awards, tomorrow December 9th at 8pm ET. The poster actually reveals quite a bit! Tails will be taking a co-starring role and the iconic red biplane will be making the jump to the live action movie series, though whether it is christened the Tornado remains the be seen.
On top of a Sonic Frontiers reveal, the Sonic movie twitter account has been teasing that something, likely a trailer, is releasing soon. Shortly thereafter, Colleen O’Shaughnessey revealed that she will be returning to voice Tails in the movie. Colleen has voiced Tails in a variety of media, including Sonic Generations, Mario & Sonic 2016 and the Sonic Boom franchise.
When the Sonic movie was announced, it appeared to be a solo endeavor for the blue blur. That is, until WE REVEALED that Tails was returning in a mid-credits scene. Colleen returned to voice the more realistic CG Tails, and with the reveal of the movie sequel Tails took a larger role working his way into the logo. Some fans speculated that a larger role meant Tails would be recast, but thankfully Colleen is back. We can’t wait to see and hear more of Tails, and we are likely to be seeing something real soon!
