Sonic 4 Episode 1 costs $9.99 on Steam, but today its 66% off. So is the game worth $3.39? You decide. I thought that the game had some negative points but at under $3.50? Can you complain too much?
Hey, do you like Vectorman? Do you want to play Vectorman 2 on your current gen systems? Well you may be in luck because it seems that Vectorman 2 might be headed your way according to the Australian Classification Board.
The game is coming to ‘multi platforms’ so that means it is most likely coming to PC and all current gen consoles.
Steam now has the pre-order page for Binary Domain. If you pre-purchase the game, you will get the pre-order bonus’ from Gamestop. The game is also cheaper on PC, costing $39.99. This will most likely be the best looking version of the game.
Fan favorite Genesis games Toejam and Earl and Toejam and Earl in Panic on Funkotron are now available to download on Steam. These games were actually on Steam before but were taken down, most likely due to copyright issues. The issue first cropped up serval years ago when SEGA had a poll asking fans what Genesis games they wanted released on XBLA. Toejam and Earl took home the trophy but the creator and copyright owner wasn’t so happy to hear about these plans.
Maybe with this release SEGA and Toejam and Earl creator Greg Johnson have settled their dispute. Who knows, we might be seeing more of Toejam and Earl, maybe a guest spot in the next SEGA All-Stars game?
Is there anyone reading Segabits that hasn’t picked up Sonic Geneations yet? If so, why? It’s the best Sonic game in years and a damn good platformer. If you are still on the fence then you’re in luck, Amazon.com is offering a pretty hot deal on the Steam (PC) version. Get your digital copy of Sonic Generations right now for only $10.19.
That’s a steal folks, not to mention the PC version is the best version and controls great with a USB Xbox360 controller.
Grin was the developer that earned lots of respect for succefully rebooting Bionic Commando with Bionic Commando Rearmed on XBLA, then later released on PSN and PC. After this success, Capcom ordered them to make a full priced game which wasn’t meet with much critical praise.
Though that didn’t slow the developer down; Grin was working back at Capcom trying to reboot the Strider franchise for them. The idea was that it was supposed to launch on XBLA, PSN and PC just like Bionic Commando Rearmed did. But the project was cancelled in 2009. So they moved on and looked for another company that wanted to reboot their IP and naturally came to SEGA. The remake was set for digital platforms only and like their last project, it was supposed to be a reboot like Bionic Commando Rearmed.
If you have been waiting for the ‘best version’ of Sonic Generations to get cheap, guess what? You are in luck. For the price of $10.19 you can get the PC version of Sonic Generations via Steam. This sale will only be up for 24 or so hours (give or take). So if you want it, jump on that.
The PC version of Sonic Generations has the ability to run at 60fps, unlike the console version that is locked in at 30fps. Not to mention, you can run it in true 1080p. For $10.19, not bad.
That is correct, Steam right now has Renegade Ops on sale for $5.09, that is 66% off its regular $14.99 price point. If you have been waiting for awhile to pick this game up, this is the sale you want to pounce on. Not only that, the game is part of Steam’s “Great Gift Pile drawing“, basically you buy the game during the sale, unlock a specific achievement and get into a drawing to win another free game. Brilliant strategy by the guys behind Steam to get you to buy more games.
Sega just wanted to remind you how good Renegade Ops was, so they made this accolades trailer! Pretty sure this is exactly the same footage as another trailer just with quotes spliced into it… But hey, why not? It does a good job of showing off what Renegade Ops is all about, driving around and blowing stuff up!
It’s a brilliantly fun game that reminds me of classic top down shooters of the 90’s like Jackle and Desert Strike except in beautiful HD graphics, online play and four player co-op. If you haven’t already got it, go treat yourself it’s on PSN, XBLA and Steam and its well worth it.
SEGA have done something fantastic today, something you don’t see big publishers doing very often. They have chosen to reach out to the community and nabbed themselves Christian Whitehead aka ‘Taxman’ and his quite marvelous ‘Retro Engine’. It’s my understanding that Whitehead has been developing his ‘Retro Engine’ for quite some time now and gained a name for himself in the Sonic Community, and I can see why. His re-master release of Sonic CD for XBLA, PSN, iOS, Android, Windows Phone and of course PC is really, really good!
Unlike Backbone’s rather poor and often botched efforts at updating SEGA classics, Christian Whitehead’s ‘Retro Engine’ has given us Sonic CD locked at 60fps on every platform, both Euro/Japan and US sound tracks, new features, playable Tails, a choice of filters and modes, achievements and more… It really boasts the lot!
Hit the jump to find out why I think SEGA should snap up Whitehead and his engine!
For those people that didn’t know, Steam stores application data that includes a list of every game that has ever appeared (and will soon appear) in Steam. Even if you don’t own it.
Not only does Sonic Generation have a registry, but so does a pre-order for a bundle, which seems to include every Sonic game available on Steam. Though seems that the original version will include a free copy of Sonic The Hedgehog (Genesis).
To add to the flame, according to Sonic Stadium, the SEGA blog listed the PC version in a post and quickly edited their post.
So Renegade Ops has been out on console for awhile, while the PC version isn’t going to come out until October 14th. Don’t worry, PC users will be able to drive as Gordon Freeman’s Buggy. Is this exclusive to PC? That has not been established yet.
“Working with Steam and the Half-Life team makes this game extra special. Gordon Freeman is a deeply-established character in the gaming world and we are proud to have him included in Renegade Ops.” – John Clark, director of PC Digital
If you play as the Freeman, you will be able to unleash Antlions as his special power. So if you use Steam, there’s a big chance you’re a Half Life fan and if you aren’t, you should be.
Some good deals to be had. If you guys recall my review of Alpha Protocol, I thought the game was alright. It has its moments and those moments are worth experiencing, especially at two bucks.
According to Australian Classification Database rating, SEGA is bringing its legendary arcade racer Daytona USA to multiple consoles. With the release of “SEGA Racing Classic”, most people said that SEGA lost the Daytona USA license, seems its not the case, at least for this title.
A brand new trailer for Sega and Avalanche Studios new IP, Renegade Ops!
Renegade Ops is a throw back to the great vehicle shooters of old like Jackle and Desert Strike, only now with awesome HD graphics and all the other bells and whistles like online 4-player Co-Op and 2 Player split screen! I think the game looks awesome myself, this trailer primarily focuses on the upgrades and perks you can use to boost your vehicles performance but it’s the online multiplayer Co-Op and combo system that have really got me excited to get my hands on this game, not to mention it’s on Steam, always a good call!
Renegade Ops will be available on XBLA, PSN and Steam on September 12, 2011. Don’t miss it!
