Xbox Live slashing Virtua Tennis 2009 and SEGA Superstars Tennis price to $5

So lets say you haven’t played Virtua Tennis 2009 or SEGA Superstars Tennis. You just don’t the will power to get up, go to a store and purchase a game. Well, thankfully the fine folks at Microsoft are throwing a 75% off Games on Demand sale. So instead of paying $19.99 for the titles, you can now pay $4.99. What a bargain, if you don’t have the games that is. The discount price starts on June 19th and ends on June 25th.

Titles will be available on sale on all regions the game came out. So its available for everyone outside of Japan. I guess you can buy everyone in your family a copy of SEGA Superstars Tennis and force them to play against you now. Fun, fun.

SEGA drops prices on some Game on Demand titles

Something I always hated about Games on Demand or any other ‘buy full titles digitally’ on consoles is that they always overprice the game in question. Did you know that Vanquish was $40 dollars? Well was, since SEGA just announced a much needed price drop.

Here are the price drops:

  • Vanquish – $39.99/£29.99   $19.99/£14.99
  • Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing –  $29.99 $19.99
  • Virtua Tennis 2009 – $29.99 $19.99
  • Aliens vs. Predator – $29.99 $19.99
Now these titles are ten dollars under the ‘greatest hits’ or ‘platinum hits’ fee they would normally charge for them new. So they aren’t badly priced anymore.

SEGA in the Media: Inbetweeners play Virtua Tennis

In the 3rd series (5th episode) of the Inbetweeners, Will gets a Wii. What Tennis game does he try out on it? Hint: Not Grand Slam Tennis or Wii Sports whatever. Its Virtua Tennis 2009.

In the show Simon is too scared to stay home alone, since his mom is going away for the weekend with an old college buddy she re-kindled with via Facebook. So he decides to ask Neil, the dim-witted friend, to stay over.

“As long as I bring my PS3 so we don’t have to play those shit Wii games” –
Neil

Oh, great they had to bash the game. You can’t have a SEGA game on a show without being called shit afterwords. Curse you!  E4 airs the show in Europe, America gets it on BBC America. As for the rest of the world, check here!
