SEGA and Sumo Digital’s Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed was a huge deal when it released back in 2012. Fans were surprised to see a sequel to the original Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing, and were even more surprised to see just how ambitious the game was. Featuring three different vehicle modes that actually played differently (sorry Mario Kart 7), the game touted far more diverse racers and tracks, compared to the original, and appeared on just about every piece of modern hardware.
Today, the game adds a new console to its belt by way of Xbox One backwards compatibility. Via Major Nelson comes news that Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed is now playable on Xbox One! If you haven’t picked the game up yet, there is really no excuse not to. Regardless of the SEGA fan service, it is a quality racer on its own. Want our expert opinion on the game? Such a great game! I wish they’d make a new All stars game of some sort. A new racing game would be great but I feel it might get a bit overused, so maybe a fighting game.
Fighters megamix anybody?
Amen 2 that
Probably uunlikely that they’ll bother adding the original Sega and and Sonic all stars racing to the backwards compatible list then?
Love this game!!! Hope they make sonic adventure and Daytona usa bc soon!!
Please Daytona USA and sonic adventure 1 and 2
Sega needs to add Virtual Fighter 2 too, and maybe the original port of virtual Fighter 5 also, then all the VFs would be backwards compatible. But the fact they only added VF5: Final Showdown and Sonic all Stars racing transformed (sequel to Sega and Sonic all stars racing) – both updates of their originals, makes it seem less likely they’ll be as interested in adding these prequels which both have enough separate content in them to be considered separate games.
This is great but what about the original though? Some liked that one a bit better in its own way.
Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown just went BC too.
Two more Xbox One Backwards-Compatible Games arrive in the January 2017. see more about Rocket Knight and Shadow of the Dammed are the new games in Xbox One Backwards Compatibility List
