We have been covering a lot of Sonic the Hedgehog movie news, including having the first reveal of Jim Carrey as Robotnik and revealing that the Sonic Movie trailer would hit the internet today (look above!). We also did a pretty popular SEGA News Bits video going over the leaked plot details (if you don’t mind spoilers!) and now we got the first official look at the movie! If you dislike spoilers, you might want to hold off watching the trailer, because towards the end they reveal Jim Carrey as Robotnik… but his final look that is supposed to be a surprise.
So what do you guys think of the debut trailer for the Sonic the Hedgehog movie? Is it as bad as a lot of people have been predicting? So far the YouTube like/dislike ratio is mixed, leaning towards disliked.

The music choice is just terrible, but still I find it interesting if you don’t mind that atrocious Sonic!

I enjoyed it despite Sonic’s design being wonky (especially in the first minute😬), Carrey looks like he’ll steal the show as Dr Ivo Robotnik (actual IMDB listing!).
I’m definitely watching it even if it’s bad…which I don’t think it will be 😅
I… Can’t say I hate it. Despite the meh Sonic design it almost looks good as a Sonic movie. Time will tell if the movie lives up to the trailer.
Looks absolutely dreadful, you can tell the script is just muddled with hollywood taking unncessesary liberties, it’s gonna be a trainwreck, I want to see it simply because it looks so bad that it’s probably hilarious, a good movie to laugh at (not with).
As for Sonic’s design, LOLOLOOLLOLOL. That’s just icing on the cake, so bad.
That last shot of Robotnik looks like he’s in Fantasy Zone or something
Please tell me the Rifftrax will be added onto this movie upon release, I don’t think I can enjoy it otherwise.
