Badcomputer’s newest Master System shooter, “Razing Core”, is now available

Badcomputer is back with another modern shooter classic for Master System.

Razing Core is his newest game, now finalized and ready to purchase as a digital Master System ROM file. The game is a vertically scrolling shooter designed to stand toe-to-toe with some of the best games of its kind on that console. With multiple weapons available at all times, and various charge levels to power them up, you’ll have more than enough firepower for the many waves of enemies across seven levels, all with the level of graphical detail you’ve come to expect from Badcomputer after his last hit Master System game, Frontier Force. This game is supported by stellar music composed by Lovepenguin and art by Danmakuman. Speaking of art, it is also guaranteed to be free of AI generated art, cause Badcomputer is way too dignified to use that in his retro games unlike some developers.

Wanna hear more? Than vertically scroll on past the break and find out more.

As mentioned, the game is currently available as a digital ROM file playable on a Master System, Mark-III, or compatible Genesis/Mega-Drive console via a flash cartridge such as the Master/Mega Everdrive line or in your favorite Master System emulator. The game will cost you $7.99 USD, but a free demo is also available to download and try in case you’re, understandably, still hesitant to pay 8 big ones for the full game. A physical release is planned for 2027, which we’ll be sure to update you on right here on SegaBits when the time comes. Keep in mind that the game is optimized for 60hz displays.

Here are the major features listed from the itch.io page:

  • 7 stages across the solar system
  • Upgradable primary, secondary and Core weapons
  • Burst Charge weapon with 5 charge levels
  • Screen-filling bosses and multiple mid bosses
  • Boss checkpoints and infinite continues
  • Printable manual with illustrated cover
  • Stage 1 demo available

If you are gonna download the game, remember to leave feedback for Badcomputer on his itch.io page’s comment section. You can also tell us what you think in the comments section right here on SegaBits. Are you gonna buy Razing Core? Did you try out the demo? Have you played Badcomputer’s last game, Frontier Force, or any of his other games? Lets shout out loud about it here.

And if you haven’t looked at Frontier Force, you can still purchase that game’s ROM file as well. It also comes with a free demo you can try first.
