See Modern Sonic’s Green Hill Zone in FULL!

Thanks to a new Takashi Iizuka interview with French gaming website Gameblog.fr, additional gameplay footage of both Modern Sonic and Classic Sonic has been released, playing during and after the interview. While I’ve yet to figure out what Iizuka is saying, it doesn’t sound as though there are any bombs dropped. What is way cool about the video, however, is that we get to see the final portion of Modern Sonic running though Green Hill Zone. I speedily stitched together the available footage to create a full run of the stage. Enjoy!

Thanks for putting that together barry! It's really interesting to see the Looooong stretch of narrow track in the final few seconds of the level. I can't imagine what the point of that is.

^Looking at the beautiful scenery that you can't actually see?

Looks awesome, looks like SEGA finally found the winning recipe.

That was beautiful. Getting good vibes off this footage. Now for a Classic Sonic run of the same stage!

Yea, gonna be honest, I don't see any challenge to this.. I mean, you were fast in the original games but there were enemies and pitfalls EVERYWHERE. This looks more like a rythm game with sonic in the background.

I take it you aren't very familiar with the Unleashed game play style.

If it plays anything like Unleashed/Colors you're not going to be able to use the boost for so long until you unlock it. Also it may look like its not taking much skill to keep Sonic going forward but it takes a lot of twitch reflex and good timing.

Well I'm familiar with it and I suppose thats the whole point here is having the classic side and the modern side, which I can totally respect, I just haven't been fond of the modern sonics, including unleashed, haven't played colors. Color me biased but it just never played out positively for me. Maybe i'm still sore about the eggman thing 😉

Hopefully the classic side will be good enough for me to like the game as a whole.

Nice one barry, graphics and art look fantastic.

I wouldn't have any complaints if they slowed these levels down a tad and made it harder to gain boost like Sonic Colours.

That said, surely if the level speeds past you and you aren't enjoying it then that's your own fault for playing that way. Sonic doesn't move at that speed by default.

Looks fantastic! Can't wait to see how the other stages will play out. Jungle Joyride from Sonic Unleashed is my favorite 3D Sonic stage so I hope there will be some similar to that level in this new game. =)
