I am waiting for a platinum edition that would have more levels and preferably the original level design available as an extra act.

Some levels in Generations are pretty inferior to the originals.

That’s never gonna happen. There could be DLC eventually, but it’ll never be rereleased with DLC included. Get the game now rather than waiting for something that will never release.

Games often get a GOTY edition with more stuff in em.

It is also that I like buying my games in the red case and besides I am not in a rush to play this game as I am currently playing All Star Racing.

And if I get some free time i’d probably like to sit down and play Yakuza 3 i’ve had that game for 6 months and haven’t had the time to play it.

So basically I am not in a hurry to buy the game. So at the very least i’ll wait until the next Sonic (non dlc) game comes out before I buy this.

You are a cheap bastard that’s just looking for an excuse to not buy the game. I don’t even know why you wasted your time posting. I could bet you’ll use your same stupid excuse not to buy the next game….I can’t believe you posted your retarded logic twice forty minutes later.

Sorry, but I just can’t see Sonic Generations getting a GOTY edition. For starters, it wasn’t GOTY. At most, a budget release could happen, but it’ll be the same game as the original release, and by that point both the original and the budget title will be nearly equal in price. I saw Generations for $30 last weekend, just $10 difference from a budget title.

wait, so is the pc the best version? I don’t remember that ever being confirmed. Weren’t there technical issues galore?

    • Damon says:

Yes, the PC version is the best one.
It runs at higher resolutions and at double the framerate, provided your PC is fast enough. Once you’ve played Sonic Generations in 1920×1080 at 60fps, you’ll realize how old and weak the current consoles have become.

There aren’t “technical issues galore” with the PC version, just a few minor issues, which might not even manifest on your system:

      1. The quickstep bug. Modern Sonic seems to randomly quickstep during gameplay. Only happens with generic DirectInput gamepads, and apparently only if you directly play an Act 2 without having visited the corresponding Act 1 directly before. Solution: use XInput, ie. an Xbox 360 gamepad. A real one or an emulated one via x360ce.

      2. The online issue. Apparently the game crashes or gets really slow if you want to play the online races and have a ridiculous amount of friends in your Steam account (100 or so). Solution: don’t play the online mode (it’s not that great) or get rid of some “friends”.

      3. The Rouge issue. Some people report that a certain Rouge challenge in Seaside Hill crashes the game. I tried the game on three different PCs/Notebooks and that never happened to me once, so I absolutely cannot confirm this problem.

So glad I bought mine yesterday. The deal is gone

I should note that the PC version being the best is my opinion. ;p

    • radrappy says:

haha you dont have to do that. I was just curious given that media outlets tend to ignore pc sonic games. To those with PC set ups, do you tend to hook your comps to a hd tv to get that sit down experience?

    • CrazyTails says:

I actually do that. If you have a videocard capable of connecting more screens, you can connect an HDMI with your tv, and display+ audio will all come out of your tv once you configure it as the mainscreen.

As others said, the PC version is so much superior. I think if you played the console version all this time, you’ll be quite surprised

    i agree whit you sharky
