Tekken developer Katsuhiro Harada trying to get Project X Zone localized

Though it likely won’t come as a surprise to many, doubt has been cast on the prospect of Project X Zone getting a release in Western territories.

Even with its roster of popular characters from SEGA/Namco/Capcom franchises, the 3DS crossover title has “niche Japanese game” written all over it, and like clockwork, with that comes the typical struggle for an international release.

After being flooded with angry Twitter responses following comments that a Western release seemed unlikely, Katsuhiro Harada has tweeted to assure fans that he has, if nothing else, been pushing for the game’s localization.

While not the most promising sign, it’s at least nice to hear that someone from within Namco Japan is listening to the voices of Western fans. Project X Zone will see release in Japan on October 11th.

I love this guy already. Project X Zone has some of my favorite Sega characters in there and has insane game play. BRING IT TO THE WEST! For the sake of Sakura-san and Busujima-sama!

    Yes please!!

Shame it couldn’t be anyone from SEGA, since we know what they would say.

Good on you Namco, perhaps you finally shaken off that “We can’t localise Tales of X” stigma after all.

If not only for the fact how well the 3DS is doing. The 3DS has not only been doing very well, but it still hasn’t been cracked after 2 years either. Piracy can have a incredibly major impact on sales.

    • SkyBlue says:

That’s true, but it’s surprising that Scamco, of all companies wants this game to be released to the west when they are infamous for not releasing their better titles.

Sad at the lack of SEGA footage though…it seems to be mostly Capcpom and Scamco.

**Yeah, not a fan of either company.

Why do you want something released in the West that has more chance of being crap than quality?

    Remember what happened to NamcoXCapcom.
SegaXCapcomXNamco is poised to be the same and more like a sequal to that.

We don’t even know if it’s even worth bothering to convince bringing it out in the West yet, any reviews?

I was supposed to hate Bandai Namco Games, but they are doing the best job ever in Japan from all japanese games companies! A lot of games, high quality, very agressive marketing.

It’s sad to say that, but now, namco is doing on many many ways 100% better than Sega! And they are making profits. High profits!

I have never bought so many games from them like now. They are doing a very impressive job on this generation.

Of course I will buy a 3DS just for PXZ! The guys from Bandai Namco have high respect and love for all these franchises on that game and I’m completely HYPED for it!!! Can’t wait to play ><

Looks like STORM! and I are getting it lol. I’ll have to buy a JP 3DS later, for now I want to see the art book and hear the soundtrack.
