My Life With SEGA: Halloween month continues with Quake on Saturn

A.J. continues with creepy games during the month of October as he checks out Quake on the SEGA Saturn.

Long before Master Chief, or even the Helghast Empire, there was Quake. You didn’t sit through numerous cutscenes, trying to dazzle you with diamonds only to baffle you with bullshit. With Quake, it dazzled us with atmosphere, bloodshed and firepower….

But how does it look and play with Sega’s 32-bit monster? Walk with me through the Slipgate and we’ll find out.

Yeah, had to post a classic. Next week, two new episodes back-to-back; Evil Dead: Hail to the King for Dreamcast and something….a little special.

The SEGA fans are the only fanbase that seems to hate the company they claim to like. Makes a whole lotta sense to me, always nitpicking to death trivial matters, or because their favorite series never had a sequel for the sake of a sequel. Maybe it’s because the standards used to be higher in the 90’s, but nothing gets better from night to day. It takes time to get back on track, and once again, which company is doing much better decisions in the past 5 years? Seems to me you guys don’t even know what you want. Also, there are people that are particular fans of Sonic, but not SEGA, and SEGA shouldn’t be a slave of a character that by this point has way more bad than good games in it’s catalog. He should just be the mascot for the Mega Drive as well as Alex Kidd was the mascot for the Master System, and that’s all. Keep moving forward, if you want sequels for the sake of sequels, go for a Nintendo blog and leave SEGA alone to make the games they want to make with freedom.

Sony fanboys will blame anything, but never Sony, a bunch of girlies crying over everything on the planet. Nintendo fanboys are authistic spoiled kids that thinks the universe is always centered around the “amazing Nintendo world!” and everybody should bend over to the “super protagonist of gaming in the last 30 years”, yeah right… the super-protagonista that was smashed by NEC on Japan in the 80’s, by SEGA in USA in early 90’s, by the same SEGA with the Saturn on Japan, and then, by Sony with the PS2… Microsoft fanboys just doesn’t know better, have no clue and probably will never have even if Microsoft stays in the business for more 100 years. But Sega fanboys? They hate their own favorite softhouse/hardware developer, or think everything should just stop because of their favorite little blue character, they don’t give a damn about anything concerning SEGA history. They are people that just don’t know about what they claim to like, so, they don’t have the right to ask for more, period. Fuck you all. Thank you once again.

@Arturomaru – Yeah, that was completely random and uncalled for.

Saturn Quake really is amazing, the dynamic lighting and atmosphere are a good deal more “grungy” than the PC version, I love it!
