Joining Super Hang-On, Space Harrier and Sonic in the 3D remakes is the Genesis and arcade classic, Altered Beast. It was announced on SOJ’s archive site that the game will be released next week in Japan at 600 yen. New features include…
- “Whimsical transformation” Whatever that is.
- 2-Player local play.
- Save anywhere
- Japanese and western versions
- Boob tube “Classic” view.
- Input settings. Set buttons as you wish.
- Arcade sounds replace Genesis sounds.
Of all the games to pick…. why… :/
Afterburner? Outrun? Golden Axe?
Anything made by treasure!?
Why this debatably terrible game…
Mega Drive 25th Anniversary should include the original pack-in game.
… and it does.
Enormous nostalgia value.
But what’s the point porting the MD version ?
Should have been the arcade one.
This and Sonic 1 are to celebrate the MD’s 25th anniversary in Japan.
It’s understandable for Sonic, MD version being the original title. But there’s no point in porting the inferior version of Altered Beast, to my opinion.
So wait, it is the Genesis version? What sense does that make? The arcade version would look much cooler in 3D, what with the semi-3D affects.
SEGA, hurry up and announce these games for the US! I am dying to play these, especially 3D Space Harrier, the new additions sound mesmerizing.
