Sonic Team’s Takashi Iizuka wants to do a Sonic Adventure Remake

In a new article in Retro Gamer looks back at Sonic Adventure, goes into details about how Sonic the Hedgehog transition from 2D to 3D and the making of Sonic Adventure. After this whole reminisce and looking back at the work Sonic Team did with the first Sonic Adventure, Takashi Iizuka says:

“It was the first high-speed 3D action game that also featured scenario highlighted with six different stories, the A-life Chao, six unique styles of gameplay – it is a unique offering even 20 years after its release… However, it was the very first 3D game that we worked on and looking at it now I can see the rough edges it has, which really makes me want to remake it again.”

While on the other hand Kazuyuki Hoshino said he would like to continue the series with a new game. But what would you rather have? A new Sonic Adventure 3 or a remake of Sonic Adventure? I wouldn’t be shocked if Sonic Team tries going back to the Sonic Adventure brand considering fan demand is high and that Sonic Mania was a highly successful experiment that was pushed to its success by its enthusiastic fans, its not hard to see SEGA wanting to try capturing that lighting in a bottle another time with Sonic Adventure-type remake.

Make it happen Sega! I would like to see a remake to both SA1 and SA2 then develop a Sonic Adventure 3.

I believe SA2 story needs serious changes .

To be fair, Sonic Adventure doesn’t even need full remake, just a little remaster. They can expand adventure fields (yes, you can punch me for these words), improve graphics, fix bugs, but the controls and voice acting should stay the same (you can punch me for that too). Big’s fishing part can be reworked to make it a bit easier to control the rod, and Gamma’s stages… maybe a bit more action-packed, like Eggman’s stages in SA2.

I’d love to see SA remake. My friends would like it too. But in my opinion, Takashi Iizuka and current Sonic Team staff just can’t handle it. They are not the original Sonic Team and they don’t really know what to do with the property.

I agree. They should keep the Voices, but in my opinion they should keep Sonic’s Voice from the original Sonic Adventure. I know it may sound unfair or weird but honestly, Sonic’s edgy Teenager Voice always made me enjoy 3D Sonic Games, but ever since the new Voice actor, I haven’t really enjoyed the games much more… They also shouldn’t screw up like what they did with Forces…

Keep your filthy corporate hands off of it Iizuka.

Great idea SA 1 remake I really enjoyed in the first time I played, my favorite characters, I feel so insane when I play with Amy because she is slow, zero is comming, and… -wow! Run Amy ruuuuuuun!!!

Tails and his shortcuts, trying to be faster than sonic, and he was so independent and courageous, when he is flying I really feel that’s in under control of him,

Knuckle’s stages are a little fun too, totally different places to find the master emerald’s pieces and a mystery, who broken it, why does somebody did this to knuckle’s? And where Tikal and chaos are now?

Gamma’s stages are pretty cool shot in everything making points and going a little bit fast, faster than tails and Eggman in SA2.

And finally sonic his gameplay is the funniest, when sonic do a handling while spinning he would go slwower, because if you make a wrong little touch in your direccional button sonic do a 90°drift, he is the faster

I had complications about learning how to play with big the cat but his stages are a little fun (when you learn to play, of course)

Super sonic’s story is just awesome

I really think its would be a awesome game

I’ll admit this is both deeply appealing to me, as I love and adore SA1, but also kind of a terrifying thought. If it turned out bad… that would be it, I’m done with Sonic. Hell even if it’s good I may just be done with the series. I’d be perfectly content with just that and nothing else.

Another thing… Sonic Team has not worked with the Adventure formula for a long ass time, the absolute closest we’ve gotten is Lost World. Would they do it justice? Would it feel at all as good? Would they staple the boost formula to it and therefore absolutely ruin it? So many questions but no answers.

If it was good I’d be thrilled… otherwise just let the game be.

To be honest, I just want a new game with breedable chao. If remaking SA1 does that, I’ll be one happy Sonic fan, idc about the gameplay/story/etc. To this day I still boot up SA2B on my Gamecube just to raise the li’l cuties.

Let’s face it, what I really want is Chao Adventure for the Nintendo Switch… lol.
