Conduit 2 to support voice chat with any player?

New information regarding Conduit 2 suggest that you won’t need to be in the same game with players on your ‘friends list’ to chat with them. Which is pretty good for a Wii game.

The article also says that you will be able to add players you played with to your “ally list”, this list can hold up to 96 players. Friend codes will be required to put friends on your ‘friends list’ but not ‘allies list’. Sort of move, if you ask me.

Since this information is not 100% confirmed, we will put this up as a rumor.

Who is your favorite SEGA Dad?

Father’s day usually has me picturing Football and beer, but today we will talk about SEGA dads, which is your favorite? My vote goes to Iwao Hazuki. First of all he was voiced in Japan by Hiroshi Fujioka, the man that played Segata Sanshiro. Already awesome.

In the game Shenmue, there is also flash backs to Ryo and his dad as kids, like where he convinces him to eat carrots, even though he dislikes them. If you know kids, you know you have to be pretty good to convince them do what they don’t want to. Especially me, I was a fucking brat.

Not to mention he gave the location of the Dragon Mirror to Lan Di so he wouldn’t hurt his son. Even though we know its very important object, so much so that he would fight and risk his own life to protect it.

Who is your favorite SEGA dad?

New Sonic Free Riders information

I have failed to update you with 80 articles about this excellent looking title for Microsoft’s Kinect add-on that is coming later this fall. So I will do a recap of new information.

  • Game developed by O-Two.
  • 12 players via Xbox Live, 4 players locally.
  • Online modes confirmed: Co-op & versus.
  • Game will support DLC.
  • Title is Kinect only.

Very interesting and its good to see that Sonic Team isn’t doing this game, mostly because I’m hoping for a big Sonic the Hedgehog 20th anniversary game next year. Never thought you’d hear me ask for more Sonic? Me neither.

What about Rez HD on PSN?

So with the new announcement of Children of Eden, gamers that have not experienced Rez are obviously intrested in giving the game a go. Especially with all the awards that Children of Eden is snatching up at E3. Playing Rez HD is easy for 360 owners, having the game on their marketplace. PS3 only owners, not so much. When asked on twitter if a user should get Rez on PS2 or just wait for Rez HD on PS3, Q Entertainment responded:

“I’d buy it on PS2 if I were you. If it comes to PSN, it probably won’t be any time soon. Maybe Sega will port it to XBLA/PSN? Duno” Q Entertainment Twitter

This is true, Rez licenses is still owned by SEGA. Rez HD had to be done under the permission of SEGA. I think, if SEGA wanted to do a PSN/XBLA (with extra stuff) now is the time, especially when everyone is going crazy over Children of Eden.

SEGA wins two Guinness of World Records at E3

This time, SEGA has picked up two world records, one for first 3D title. Which of course is Virtua Fighter (take that Nintendo) and the second is for best PS3 RPG, this one being Valkyria Chronicles (Take that Square-Enix). Even though I can see why they gave the first one out, the second is not really a world record, but a matter of opinion, no?

I’m just glad that great SEGA games are getting reconized, even on published books like Guinness of World Records. Wish Yu Suzuki was at E3 to receive that award though. This would have been a good time to announce the Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown console port!

Zero Punctuation reviews Alpha Protocol

Here is a really fast talking review of Alpha Protocol, actually does not bash the game too hard. Even compares it to Deus Ex, which most reviewers have done and pointed out why that game is better. Regardless, still worth a watch.

SEGA not planning to re-enter hardware business

Believe it or not, this is not a real console.

You have probably already read all those rumors by Zach Morris, you know, those rumors that SEGA is going to re-enter the hardware business? Well, Mike Hayes says it is not true.

“Absolutely not. We’re a software company. We certainly won’t be getting back into hardware, that’s for sure.”

Though, even if it was true, you think he would let something this big slip? But obviously it isn’t true, Zach Morris has been making rumors up like this since SEGA went third party. Nothing to see here.

SEGA hopes to re-release around 20 DC titles by next summer

SEGA has stated they are planning on bringing 18 to 24 DC titles to PSN and XBLA by next summer. Shenmue re-release seems pretty likely now. This is according to Mike Hayes, who of course is the president of SEGA West.

“We hope to have somewhere between 18 to 24. Around that.” – Mike Hayes

So what about SEGA Saturn? Mike Hayes says that right now, they have no plans on bringing SEGA Saturn games to HD consoles. Come on, give us some Panzer Dragoon and Shining Force III!

Sonic Free Rider gameplay footage

So you guys have already seen Kinect shown off at the Microsoft press event and if you are like me, you where probably disapointed you did not see a SEGA game using it. Well fear no more, here is someone playing Sonic’s Kinect Riding game for over 5 minutes.

I’m not a fan of Sonic Rider games and this new one is not going to change my mind, especially playing it with Kinect. People are saying that SEGA has confirmed that the game will only play with Kinect, no controller option.

Sonic Free Riders screenshots hit the net

We already knew that Sonic Free Riders was coming to Microsoft Kinect, but now we have the first screenshots of the game. Like we expected before, this has the same look as the last two Sonic Rider games, even down to graphics.

The game is being aimed as a retail release, since it is going to be one of the 15 launch games with Natal.

SEGA bringing Super Monkey Ball and Sonic to 3DS

There is a list of titles for 3DS floating around, showing all the games that publishers will be releasing for the new Nintendo handheld. SEGA has listed two titles, one just called Sonic (not final name) and the other Super Monkey Ball (not final name).

I’m not shocked, Super Monkey Ball is always used on new devices like iPhone and Banana Blitz was a launch title for the Nintendo Wii. Sonic obviously sells well on a Nintendo system and Sonic will also be a launch title on Kinect.
