Persona 4: The Ultimax Ultra Suplex Hold coming to PS3 in 2014

Previously only announced for arcades, Persona 4: The Ultimax Ultra Suplex Hold has officially been announced for PS3 today. While arcades will be getting the game on November 28th, the PS3 version will be released in the summer of 2014 in Japan.

Along with this announcement a new trailer showing new gameplay and cutscenes was also released, with a tease for a new character at the end. Due to the character being a spoiler for the endgame of Persona 4, you’ll have to see the trailer for yourself to see who he is. (Of course, this does mean you’ll probably see the spoiler in the comments section below)

Persona 4: Dancing All Night announced for Playstation Vita

Atlus announced a bunch of new Persona games today, one of which is a game funky student would be proud of called Persona 4: Dancing All Night. This game is developed by Dingo, a developer known for the Hatsune Miku: Project Diva games for PSP.

This game will be coming out exclusively for Playtation Vita sometime in 2014 in Japan.

SEGA teases that on October 29th, guts will be _______

BXmTqSwIEAAqAWC

It looks like SEGA has more in store for October 29th than just the American release of Sonic Lost World. This image saying “On October 29th, guts will be _______” was just posted on Facebook and Twitter by SEGA.

My guess is that it’s something Typing of the Dead related. It better be cause that’s really the best possible outcome I can think of for a teaser like this, “spelled” fits into the blank spot after all. What do you think this could be? Feel free to leave your speculation in the comments. (Hint: it’s probably not Shenmue related.)

Sonic Lost World Getting Pre-order DLC Featuring Omochao

soniclostworldpreorderheader

In these modern times video games often have pre-order bonuses to convince the consumer to buy the game. Usually this is some kind of skin, extra mission or unlockable character. For Sonic Lost World there’s already the Deadly Six edition for everyone who buys a first run copy, but apparently Sega thought this wasn’t incentive enough.

Depending on where you pre-order Sonic Lost World, you can get a some extra items or an exclusive skin for Omochao. In the UK you can get a rare gold Omochao RC Gadget and five extra Black Bomb Color Powers at ShopTo. In the US Gamestop has an Omochao RC Gadget with a Sonic skin and at Amazon.com the pre-order bonus is 25 extra lives.

Atlus opens Persona countdown site

persona5countdown

Besides the announcement of Persona 4 The Ultimax Ultra Suplex Hold earlier today, Atlus also put up a countdown site that opens up on November 24th, on which the next game by the team that made the Persona games will seemingly be revealed. This site was revealed by the official Persona Twitter account.

Also Index Corp registered a site for Persona 5 three months ago. Feel free to leave speculation for what this could be in the comments below.

Persona 4 Ultimax Ultra Suplex Hold announced

Atlus revealed an sequel to Persona 4 Arena today called Persona 4 Ultimax Ultra Suplex Hold today. Sure to be put on top of many top 10 best fighting game names lists, this update features a new story along with at least three new characters: Junpei and Yukari from Persona 3 and an original character called Sho Minazuki.

The official website also opened up, where a command list for the characters’ moves can be found. The subtitles in the trailer above are done by Youtube user bobrossfreak.

15 minutes of Castle of Illusion gameplay

Game Informer have gotten their hands on a review copy of the upcoming Castle of Illusion remake and were allowed to put up a video of them playing through the first world. Along with the gameplay we also got some new details including that we can expect the game in early September and that the voice of Sully from the Uncharted series, Richard McGonagle is narrating the game. Sadly this video doesn’t feature the redone soundtrack by Grant Kirkhope.

Yuji Naka’s Rodea the Sky Soldier is Still Alive

Have you been wondering what Yuji Naka has been up to since leaving Sonic Team besides making a bunch of small and kinda neat games? Well, a new action adventure game called Rodea the Sky Soldier was announced for Wii and 3DS, publisher Kadowaka Games released a trailer which can be seen above. So why is it being released for Wii? Well, this trailer was released a little more than two years ago, after which the publisher never spoke of it again. Yuji Naka gave an update a few months later saying that the game was finished, but that they were waiting for Kadowaka Games to publish it. After a while everyone who did know about the game either forgot about it or assumed that it was scrapped.

Now we finally have an update on the title. Yoshimi Yasuda, the president of Kadowaka Games had said that they were having trouble adapting the control scheme to the 3DS version, which is being handled by the publisher. Yasuda said that the version is about 70% finished and that there will be more information in the near future. Maybe it’ll get a re-reveal at TGS 2013? We’ll see.

Prope also released a Digimon RPG called Digimon Adventure for PSP earlier this year in Japan, a western release doesn’t seem likely for this game though.

First Trailer for Hero Bank Released

While SEGA had already begun advertising Nagoshi’s new RPG called Hero Bank with branded merchandise including toilet paper, they hadn’t released a trailer until today. This trailer shows off gameplay, cutscenes and the characters you’ll be fighting against and with while a Japanese narrator narrates in Japanese.

Hero Bank releases in Japan on December 19th for 3DS. And again, it isn’t known yet if the game will actually be released in Western countries.

Guilty Gear is Back With Some Very Impressive Visuals

Arc System Works announced their latest game: Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- today. This is the first new big entry in the Guilty Gear franchise since 2007 and also the third entry to be published by SEGA.

This new title uses Epic’s Unreal Engine, they used the engine to give the game a 2D sprite look in a 3D world, which like the video above shows looks pretty damn impressive. No release date or platforms have been announced yet, but you can probably expect it to be released in Arcades as well as on consoles.

Want a New English Trailer for Marza’s Captain Harlock Movie? Well Here You Go

UPDATE: So this trailer keeps being taken down from Youtube. If the video above gets taken down again you can watch it here on Dailymotion.

If you weren’t sure yet if the Captain Harlock movie Marza Animation Planet is working on is actually coming to the west, a new English trailer got leaked yesterday from the site of the company that does the marketing for the film in the west. This trailer shows two and a half minutes of footage, mostly with a very not-Japanese song being played over it. I have to say, it’s looking pretty dang good.

Toei also released a couple of other trailers earlier this year and released a small 30 second teaser earlier this week. Besides this, merch and also a localized version of the script has been leaked, so there may be spoilers on the internet. The Japanese release date is September 7th, dates for other countries aren’t known yet.

Total War: Rome 2 Gets a Release Date, Pre-order DLC and a Collector’s Edition

While we’ve already seen a whole bunch of neat stuff from Total War: Rome 2, there have been no details for when people can actually play the game. So today SEGA revealed on their blog that the global release date is September 3rd, 2013 for both digital stores like Steam and retail.

Of course, a game launch wouldn’t be complete without some pre-order DLC, which the above video shows off. This DLC is called the Greek States Culture Pack and will feature three new factions: Epirus, Athens and Sparta. This will be available on Steam on the same day as the full game for those who pre-order it. SEGA also revealed a pricey Collector’s Edition for the game, hit the jump to see what it includes.
