Not really an interview, since you have to ask questions. More like someone at the SEGA booth telling us what the game is about, while she can barely talk due to screaming at Sonic fans all day because they were doing odd stuff at the booth.
Like always, the game is looking rather fantastic in my opinion.
Today a new wisp power has been revealed, The Orange Wisp is a rocket powered wisp able to blast everyone’s favorite blue rat far into the air.

Everytime someone has a list of games that should get a trophy patch, Valkyria Chronicles is on that list right below Metal Gear Solid 4. Nothing new, but is it odd that fans are still asking for it? Isn’t it a tad bit late? Don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t mind it, but trophies won’t make the game better or worse. I guess its not going to hurt us to ask, is it?

Gamestop is holding some of that ‘exclusive pre-order’ stuff with Sonic Colors, unlike most of their crappy DLC exclusives; this one is a physical item. A creepy Sonic hat, to wear when you have your furry orgies.
I’m sure deep down inside SEGA knows that 90% of the Sonic fanbase is odd furry people and they will love this. But, I have to admit, its nice seeing a ‘physical’ free object for pre-order. You can pre-order the game on their site and it will ship with the hat.

We already know that Vanquish is hitting Japan on October 21st, but a day after, everyone in Europe will have the pleasure of getting the game. The three weapon pack will be for pre-order customers as well, only in Europe it will be selected retailers.
The DLC for pre-orders are the same as the Japanese release. That means Boost Machine Gun, Laser Canon and Anti Armor Pistol. If trend goes like the Japanese release, the pre-order DLC will be up for sale after the game comes out.

SEGA has been releasing ‘kid arcade’ games for awhile. This is one of their latest ones and its artwork creeps me out. Just to annoy parents, this ride can seat a kid and an adult.
The game takes about 2-4 minutes as you go on a bus route and pick up animals. You can select the bus routes. The game features “road safety events”, you know, to teach your kids about being safe. Also vibrating seats. For the Moms.

If you go to the Nintendo of America product page in the Wii’s U.S. channel it will reveal that the game will support both classic controller and Gamecube controller, for those of you that hate motion.
This is great, if it turns out to be true. But Nintendo EU’s listing for Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing said it supported the Gamecube controller, which it did not. So who knows.

SEGA Japan have confirmed paid downloadable content will be hitting Vanquish. The first set of DLC are the three guns you see above and will be free for pre-order customers. The pack includes a Boost Machine Gun, Laser Canon and Anti Armor Pistol.
It has been confirmed that those who didn’t pre-order will be able to buy the weapons. Talking about Vanquish, Shinji Mikami has launched the blog for the game today.
Famitsu has given up the date for Vanquish, it will be hitting store shelves on October 21st on both the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. The only issue with the release date is that its Japan only.
Though, I thought I heard that the game was being released worldwide at the same time? I doubt it, but I’m sure we will probably get it in early 2011.

Even though Alpha Protocol wasn’t the best Western RPG, I thought it could have really improved for the sequel and deliver an amazing experience. SEGA’s Mike Hayes has decided that we won’t get a sequel due to the low sales of the first game. Which makes sense.
“Let’s speak very commercially; the game hasn’t sold what we’ve expected, therefore we won’t be doing a sequel. The concept was brilliant, though,You know this whole thing with Metacritic where you have to be in the high 70s to mid-80s minimum [to have any success] – well, with RPGs you have got to be in the late 80s. Whilst we had a good game, I don’t think we had a game that had enough to get us to that upper echelon and I think that was the issue. I hope this does not stop SEGA from doing another Western RPG in the near future. Though, I have to admit that Obsidian dropped the ball on this one. How can a game be delayed for 2 years and it still play like it wasn’t complete, yet out of the blue they announce that they are doing a Fallout game and its coming out in a few months? Makes you think where their priorities where.

Games shown include Golden Axe, Altered Beast, Ecco, Gain Ground, Vectorman, CrackDown, Space Harrier 2 and my personal favourites Shinobi 3 and Comix Zone.
Each classic SEGA titles will be available from £1.99/€2.49/ AUS$3.49 which is dirt cheap and a real bargain even if you own them already.
SEGA have confirmed that they will not be attending Gamescon this year due to commercial reasons but reiterated that this does not mean they will not appear in future Gamescon and that this decision is solely based on a decision regarding 2010. In a statement release via VG247, the publisher said;
“Sega has made the decision not to attend gamescom this year,” said the firm.
“Gamescom 2009 was a very successful show for us and continues to be the most important European event in the calendar. The decision not to show at this year’s event was not down to the location of Cologne and will not mean that Sega will never attend gamescom in the future, but simply a commercial decision made for 2010.”
GamesCon happens to be the largest Gaming trade show in the world in terms of attendence. SEGA skipping out on such a large event, in particular the fact that Europe has been it’s best region for video game sales will no doubt come as a surprise to many. Attention will now fall onto SEGA’s presence at the Tokyo Game Show.

Toshihiro Nagoshi, producer of the Yakuza series, is a pretty awesome dude. So awesome that the new bundle for his Black Panther: New Yakuza Chapter game will have his name on it, literally. It will be signed by Mr. Nagoshi himself. The limited edition version will be called “Toshihiro Nagoshi Produce Premium Box.”
It will also come with a UMD with the theme song’s music video, different artwork than the retail game, Yakuza branded cloth, and a woman looking purse to hold your PSP. Seriously, looks like a woman’s press, check out the pics below. The limited edition will retail on September 22nd for ¥9,429 (standard edition will cost ¥6,279).

Sega was at a recent Japan Expo in Paris showing off some of their upcoming games. Vanquish was one of those games demoed at the event and I think it produced of the best demonstrations showing what Vanquish has too offer so far.
The game is being played by someone that obviously already knows the ins and outs of the game and it’s much nicer to watch than the odd youtube video hosted by people giving the demo a go for the first time.
