Catherine Classic available now on PC

After quite a bit of teasing, ATLUS has officially announced that Catherine Classic is available right now on Steam for PC. Originally released in 2011, the action-adventure platformer Catherine gained quite a fanbase. Now, ahead of the release of Catherine Full Body in Japan, the original game can now be played by a whole new audience. You can check out the full press release and screens after the break, and of course the trailer is above.

What do you think of this release? Should ATLUS have waited and given Catherine Full Body a PC release?

SEGA updates Bayonetta’s steam page to tease Catherine PC release

SEGA has this thing about updating previously released game’s news feeds to tease future PC ports. This time, SEGA updated the Bayonetta steam page with a post containing the above image. A sheep, which is an animal highly featured in Catherine.

The thing is, all we know about the tease is that SEGA posted the above photo. That is all, everyone is saying this could be a tease for Catherine Classic, not the Catherine Full Body re-release that is coming with a ton of new content. Why? BecauseCatherine Classic‘ got rated for release in Australia. I think if SEGA was smart, they would have been working on a port of the new re-release Full Body and not release an outdated version. I mean, Atlus’ own porting policies basically say that they don’t like to do ports without it having extra content for the consumers. Plus Catherine Classic will be turning 8 years old later this year…

Persona 5’s Joker joins the Super Smash Bros Ultimate roster

It was just announced at The Video Game Awards that Persona 5‘s main protagonist, Joker, will be added to Super Smash Bros Ultimate. This wouldn’t be the first time Atlus and Nintendo crossed paths, prior to this Atlus developed the Nintendo crossover title Tokyo Mirage Sessions ♯FE and now Nintendo has included Joker in Smash Bros! That means that the Persona franchise is just bound to get more fans.

Can you see a Persona 5 re-release on Nintendo Switch soon? I can.

Atlus Unveils Etrian Odyssey Nexus Launch Edition

Atlus has taken to Twitter to show off the launch edition for Etrian Odyssey Nexus (known as Etrian Odyssey X in Japan), which is being considered the last entry on Nintendo’s dual screen handheld. If you haven’t kept track, Etrian Odyssey has had ten games debut on Nintendo’s dual screen handheld systems (DS and 3DS) and those include remakes, new entries and spin-offs. Seems that the franchise will make its move to the Nintendo Switch soon, but what better way of saying goodbye to a long running franchise than getting the last entry?

Pre-ordering the game or buying it on the day it launches will get you an exclusive art book featuring character art by Yuji Himukai and monster art by Shin Nagasawa, a pin featuring Vivian and a copy of the game itself in a special big box. If you are strictly a SEGA fan, the franchise (including this entry) features music by Yuzo Koshiro and as you know he is pretty good at making music.

You can pre-order Etrian Odyssey Nexus on Amazon

Etrian Odyssey Nexus, the last Etrian Odyssey on 3DS, hits the West February 2019

If you guys didn’t know, Atlus Japan has released a teaser for another Etrian Odyssey game, which lead people into thinking they are revamping the franchise for its future on the Nintendo Switch. If you never played a Etrian Odyssey game, it was one of the few RPGs on the Nintendo DS and 3DS that took advantage of the second touch screen to draw maps and thus not having  a second screen on Nintendo Switch will change the gameplay up for future entries.

That would mean that Etrian Odyssey X is the last game on Nintendo 3DS and its coming to America and Europe as Etrian Odyssey Nexus Atlus revealed via Twitter. We also got the launch of the English language website featuring the ability to pre-order the game. Below we got the very first screenshots of the English version of Etrian Odyssey Nexus, along with the press release:

Persona 3’s Female Protagonist will have a big role in Persona Q2: New Cinema Labyrinth

If you guys didn’t know, Persona 3 Portable on PSP allowed users to pick the gender of the protagonist character from Male or Female. A lot of people online would rank Persona 3 Portable‘s female protagonist as one of their favorites in video game history. So when Atlus announced Persona Q2: New Cinema Labyrinth would feature Persona 3 Portable‘s female protagonist, people got excited, but worried she would have a minor appearance. Don’t fret, the latest Weekly Famitsu has confirmed that shes a big part of the story.

Not only that, they also talked about how the game will feature 28 Persona-users, each party member being allowed to use two personas and even that Persona Q2: New Cinema Labyrinth will have its own stand alone story. More details after the break:

Atlus announces Persona Q2: New Cinema Labyrinth for 3DS

While it seems that most publishers have left the Nintendo 3DS for the Nintendo Switch, Atlus isn’t quite done. They just announced Persona Q2: New Cinema Labyrinth for the Nintendo 3DS which is set to launch November 29 in Japan for 6,980 JPY (about $63 USD).

Persona Q2 will feature cast members from Persona 3, Persona 4 and Persona 5; including female protagonist from Persona 3 (guess they were left out in the last one?). Above this post I posted the TV spot that had been released, Atlus is teasing the official trailer won’t release until August 6 at 12:00 JST via the Persona twitter account. There will also be a 10-page Weekly Famitsu preview on August 9th, so we will have a ton of new information soon.

Its not surprising that Atlus will continue to support the Nintendo 3DS, they also supported the PlayStation Vita for a long time after Sony abandoned it.

Persona 5 has shipped over 2.2 million units world wide

Atlus/SEGA have put out their latest financial reports stating that they have shipped more than 2 million units of their highly acclaimed JRPG Persona 5 world wide. If you didn’t know, the game has been a massive success for Atlus/SEGA, selling more than five times that of Persona 4 in the USA. We also know this November the game broke its 2 million milestone, meaning that since November 2017 the game has shipped an additional 200,000 units.

The way that Atlus seems to do their Persona titles, don’t be shocked if they announce a re-release with extra content on it and manage to outsell this version of the game. Maybe Persona 5: Crimson on Switch? Regardless, its most likely going to happen. If SEGA and Atlus really wanted to sell a ton, they would make the re-release available on all major platforms.
