Binary Domain US/EU demo gets dated

If you have been waiting for an English demo of Binary Domain while all your friends gobbled up the Japanese demo on the first of the month, then your wait is almost over. You can expect the PS3 demo tomorrow (February 14) and the Xbox 360 one on Wednesday (February 15).

Binary Domain comes out in North America on February 28th, 2012. Are you ready?

Binary Domain demo to hit on February 1st

For Japan at least, SEGA has announced through their Ryu Ga Gotoku Kamurocho radio station webcast that their up and coming third person squad-based shooter Binary Domain is going to have a demo available 16 days before the game’s release there (the Japanese release date is still set for February 16th). The demo itself promises to be fairly lengthy, with it featuring two stages, one set in the Shibuya’s Spain-zaka area in the lower city (The area featured in all demoes) and one in the Shinjuku train station-like area of the upper city.

It was confirmed though that the demo will only have single player support, and no confirmation of when a Western demo will debut, but it is the best indication that the title will have a demo released before launch over in America and Europe. Binary Domain is set for release in America and Europe on 28th February.

Sonic Generations demo impressions

Happy Birthday, Sonic. I think it is fair to say that many of us can thank the blue hedgehog for who we are today (in a sense). I know that part of the reason I work on this site has something to do with the blue blur’s influence on my early life, and when I look at how many comments we get on Sonic articles compared to most other Sega games it’s evident that there is still a lot of passion for the character 20 years on.

My first Sonic game was Sonic the Hedgehog, the original Sonic game. I got it as a pack in with my Sega Mega Drive and I was hooked right from the start. For me, it took what Mario was doing and made it faster and gave it some attitude; it was like a roller coaster and I’ve stuck with the character through the years. Whilst Sonic went through a really rough patch where even I stopped playing his games, I’m happy to report that I absolutely loved Sonic Colours and as I type this, I’m playing the Sonic Generations timed demo which, despite a few hiccups, I’m enjoying quite a bit.

Sonic Generations demo impressions after the jump:

SEGA confirms Sonic Generations demo

You know you all want to play Sonic Generations and now it’s been confirmed by Takashi Iizuka at the Sonic Boom fan event that that there will be a demo.

I think we all expected a demo and I assume the demo will be the Green Hill Zone stage with classic and modern gameplay. Whatever stage they choose, it will be awesome.

Sonic Generations Demo rated in Australia

sonic generations

Yes.. you read that right. A Sonic Generations Demo has been rated by the Australian ratings board. It has been rated with a kid friendly G rating. That doesn’t mean the final game won’t have a big monster though.. so don’t get your hopes up =P

It’s unusual for a demo to be rated… so who knows what’s going on. Maybe SEGA is planning an early demo for everyone to play! That would be awesome.

Hands On Impressions: Yakuza Of The End

I’ve recently played through the Japanese demo of Sega’s upcoming Yakuza of the End. A spinoff sequel to Sega’s popular Yakuza franchise where zombies help take a bite out of (organized) crime. (With all due respects to Mcgruff the crime dog.) Is there enough meat in this demo to sink your teeth into? (Okay, that was lame.)

Yakuza of the End demo hits PSN tomorrow

Yakuza of the End demo will be hitting PSN in the upcoming Japanese update. So if you have your Japanese accounts at hand, get ready to download this. The Japan store is weird and takes down demos all the time, so play it safe!

The demo lets you play as Shun Akiyama (From Yakuza 4) and shows the game’s Gun Shot Battle system. You will also be able to play with partners and play spots like the hostess club and Boot Camp section. Awesome.

Xplay gives us a taste of Yakuza 4

SEGA senior producer Yasuhiro Noguchi stopped by Xplay to show off what’s presumably the demo for Yakuza 4. He walks us through the various characters and tells us a bit about what to expect as far as bonus content is concerned. Yakuza 4 is set to be released on March 15th in North America and March 18th in Europe.

Yakuza 4 Demo Hits PSN Plus Members

Sega dropped an American demo of Yakuza 4 this past Tuesday only for PSN Plus members. The demo lets you play as Kazuma Kiryu, Masayoshi Tanimura, Shun Akiyama and Taiga Saejima in four different brawls. Sadly, all you do is brawl as all four of them. Unlike the Japanese demo, there is no exploring of any part of the city. If you have a Japanese account, I’d recommend checking out that demo instead.

Yakuza 4 will be released on March 15 in the US and March 18 in Europe. Despite my feelings on the demo, I highly recommend picking the game up, as Yakuza 3 was a masterpiece and this one looks to be even better.

Total War: Shogun 2 demo coming to Steam this month

So you want to check if your PC has enough horses and power to run something like Shogun 2? Well, you will be able to test your hardware on February 22nd, because the Total War: Shogun 2 demo is coming to Steam.

If you like it, there are two pre-order specials going around. One is for Gamestop, which gives you the “The Historic Battle of Kawagoe” pack, and the other is for Best Buy. This one gets you 1,000 Koku, currency in-game. The full game comes out March 15th. Hit the jump for press release.

Yakuza 4 gets hostess trailer & demo date

Those people that missed chatting up the hostess girls in Yakuza 3 will be glad to know that they are back for the fourth installment. Don’t believe us? Check out the trailer!

As for the demo, it will hit PSN on February 15th… if you are a Playstation Plus subscriber. For some reason, they thought it was a good thing to make this demo timed exclusive. Rest of us have to wait till February 22nd, a week later.

Physical Phantasy Star Portable 2 Infinity demo detailed

Do you love limited released SEGA stuff? I do, even though I never get anything and all the good stuff is from Japan. When SEGA does put good stuff on their Free Stuff Friday, some dude named MarioLugiKratos always ends up getting it. Bummer.

The demo is going to be limited to 10,000 units. To get one you have to cross a Rappy’s ears and then fill out some application stuff. This is all for Japan, you can also fill out this application and hand it to SEGA at their Jump Festa booth.

Football Manager 2011 – Demo and Trailer

Above is the official trailer for Football Manager 2011. I can’t say it is my favorite trailer I’ve seen for this series. But I think it is a good idea to go with trailers that are less about the game itself and more about the passion behind the sport. That said I have no passion for football at all.

If FM2011 is relevant to your interests, then you can now download and play the demo:

The Football Manager 2011 Demo is available to download today, free and exclusively in association with Mirror Football. Click the link below to download from Steam and follow the onscreen instructions to install. You will need a Steam account to download, but signing up is free.

Valkyria Chronicles 3 demo dated, devs talk PS3

The Japanese demo for Valkyria Chronicles 3 is coming out on November 9th on PSN and then you can download it via the official site on November 11th. Reserve 160 mbs for the demo. The demo will be 2 missions, including a tutorial and be fully voiced. If you beat the demo, you will get a special wepeon when you buy the full game come Janurary 27th.

For the demo, SEGA held a Q&A for the developers to answer questions. One of the questions that came up was if the developers ever plan on developing on the Playstation 3 again.
