Sonic Colors turns Sonic into a light beam

Famitsu has given up some more Sonic Colors information, to feed all your Sonic loving thirst.  We already know that in Colors, Sonic teams up with aliens called Wisps to stop Eggman from building “Eggman Planet Park.” Which in my opinion sounds like a great park.

The Wisps in the game give Sonic special powers called “Color Power.” The White Wisp gives Sonic the power “Cyan Laser” which turns Sonic into a beam of light, which increases his speed and lets him bounce off walls.

In the game you will find Wisps in different colors, each offering their own unique ability. One that was mentioned before was the ability to dig underground. Other bit of information is that the DS version will span both screens and the Wii will have full 3-D maps. The game comes out in Japan this Winter.

Bayonetta wins Famitsu’s rookie award

Famitsu has given Bayonetta their ‘Rookie Award’ , in their 2009 awards thingy. You know, every site gives prizes away for games they fancy, Famitsu is not different, just a bit late.

What does the rookie award mean? It means that the game is an “outstanding original game”, with this I agree with. Yakuza 3 was one of the many games to capture Famitsu’s “Excellence Award” along with heavy hitters like Demon’s Souls, Final Fantasy XIII and Resident Evil 5.

New Yakuza game coming to PSP

SEGA’s Project K is going to be a new Yakuza title exclusively for the PSP home system. The game appeared in this week’s Famitsu magazine.

Not much is known about the game, due to being able to read Japanese. But you can check out the scans below.

Project Neptune = Segagaga spiritual successor?

[More of this please!]

Compile Heart’s new project is codenamed “Neptune”, which has a teaser on their site and one of those fancy countdown clocks we all learn to loath. Famitsu though, has revealed the full title of the game to be “Choujigen Game Neptune.”

Nothing out of the ordinary or to resemble Segagaga, but the game is an RPG, set in the virtual world of “Game Gyoukai”, which is Japanese for “Game Industry.” The main characters name is Neptune who must stop the evil plot of Goddess Magicon.

Yes, Neptune is based on the name for the SEGA console and SEGA is publishing the game (or handling the sales side of it, according to AndriaSang). Double whammy! It is also confirmed that the game will have cameos by SEGA characters, just like Segagaga. The game will also have mock characters for well known publishers like Capcom and Nippon Ichi.

Oddest part of the whole thing? It is a PS3 exclusive, seems like we have been corrupted by DOGMA! (Segagaga reference)

Mikami’s new game is Krieg [Update]

[Update: Members at NeoGAF have said this is fake. We will have to wait a few days to confirm 100%. But the guy has posted fake entries before. So take this post with a grain of salt till its 100%]

Mikami (father of Resident Evil, director of the upcoming Vanquish) has announced a new title with his own game studio. The new game will be called Krieg, a German word that means “war, conflict and confrontation.” The game will be a Playstation 3 exclusive. Stated in the Famitsu scans, German metal bands will make up the soundtrack for the game (Nazaroth ist krieg?).

The game is about nature vs. man, after a long time of us using nature, it has decided to fight back.  The result is total chaos, some of the examples is snow storms and that sort of stuff. Mikami stated that many of the planet’s animals have ‘mutated’. Protagonist doesn’t have a name yet, but in the artwork its a boy that apparently woke up with no memory in a destroyed laboratory, searching for clues and having no real goal.

Vanquish coming to PS3 and Xbox 360

The Famitsu magazine (same one that showed the new Project Diva game) also has an interview with Shinji Mikami, director of Vanquish. He confirms that the game will be out by Winter 2010 (at least in Japan) and that it is not a ‘normal’ shooter. You won’t be shooting humans, only robots.

One thing I do see in the magazine though, is that it is a multi-platform game, not an exclusive as rumored before. Maybe this PS3 port will be better than Bayonetta? I hope so. Also screens make it look like a fast paced 3rd person shooter.
