Vanquish demo coming September 2nd

It seems that the Vanquish demo has been confirmed for PSN and Xbox Live on September 2nd. Only issue? Its for the Japanese store only, that this has been confirmed.

Not a big issue seeing as the game does not seem to have that much dialogue. Get your Japanese accounts ready!

UPDATE: The Sega Europe blog has just announced that the demo will hit XBLA and PSN on 31st August for North America, across Europe on 1st September and Australia on 2nd September. Check out the SEGA Europe Blog for the full description of the demo’s contents.

Sakura Wars creator teasing announcement

Ohji Hiroi, creator of Sakura Wars, was the guest honor at a Sakura Wars pachinko event held in Asagaya. During the show, Ohji Hiori teased an upcoming announcement.

“Next month’s Famitsu might have something interesting to see. Platform or something like…

This does not mean that Sakura Wars 6 will be announced, maybe it means they are releasing Sakura Wars: So Long, My Love in Japan on Wii. You know, since that version was ported just for the US release.

Make console love, not console wars

Neptune’s pre-order items have been revealed and they are full of love. Some of the ‘telephone cards’ that you will get free with a pre-order show console goddesses getting sexy with each other.

There are a couple of other ones in the source link, but they where not sexy enough to make the cut. Sorry. The game is coming out August 19 in Japan. No word on a Western release date.

Black Panther: New Yakuza Chapter trailer #2

Today the new Black Panther: New Yakuza Chapter trailer goes up on the interwebs. It shows off some of the cutscense that remind me of the Metal Gear Solid PSP games. The guys at AndriaSang have translations and in-depth info.

If you fast forward some more it will show the fighting, multiplayer and even the mini games. Something I never understood about games like this, do they hire someone to do the punching sound effect? Why is the sound effect so comical? I mean, no one really sounds like that when they are being punched!

SEGA launches new arcade in Yoyogi, Japan

SEGA has launched a new arcade palace in Yoyogi, Japan. This new arcade building will have 134 machines spanning across 690 square meters of space. Now if only I knew what a meter was…

They will have the latest games like AM2’s Border Break and Project Diva Arcade. The location is next to a train station, ensuring that business men will walk in to use the restroom and will be unable to resist a singing game featuring underage girls. They love that stuff.

SEGA Arcade: “Let’s Go Kids Elephant Bus” released in Japan

SEGA has been releasing ‘kid arcade’ games for awhile. This is one of their latest ones and its artwork creeps me out. Just to annoy parents, this ride can seat a kid and an adult.

The game takes about 2-4 minutes as you go on a bus route and pick up animals. You can select the bus routes. The game features “road safety events”, you know, to teach your kids about being safe. Also vibrating seats. For the Moms.

Vanquish coming out before Halloween

Famitsu has given up the date for Vanquish, it will be hitting store shelves on October 21st on both the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. The only issue with the release date is that its Japan only.

Though, I thought I heard that the game was being released worldwide at the same time? I doubt it, but I’m sure we will probably get it in early 2011.

SEGA might re-release Saturn games

[Fuck yeah, playing Sonic Adventure with no widescreen]

Yosuke Okunari, who is producing the SEGA Dreamcast re-releases and produced the Sega Ages 2500 series, has an interview with Impress Watch. In the interview, they asked him about the SEGA Saturn, you know, the only major SEGA console not to get digital re-releases?

“What we announced this time is a project where we will have consecutive releases of titles that were debuted on Dreamcast. Separate from this, we’re of course thinking about ports of Saturn games. It’s the same as how Sega Ages and Virtual Console were separate existences. It’s not that we have no intention of porting Saturn titles, so please share your requests.” – Yosuke Okunari

Hum, we can start off the list by saying NiGHTS. You know, that campaign that was launched by NiGHTS fans? But I will be greedy and demand Panzer Dragoon Saga. Go me! He also says that the second batch of Dreamcast titles have already been chosen.

For those of you wondering what team is porting the Dreamcast over, that they can’t even add widescreen to Sonic Adventure. Well, its SEGA Shanghai, the team that did the PS2 port of NiGHTS into Dreams and Dynamite Dekka. He also confirms that the games are not running via emulation. He said both Sonic Adventure and Crazy Taxi will run at 60fps. That is nice.

New Yakuza game to appear at TGS

Some new details on an unannounced Yakuza game have emerged online, stating that they don’t know yet if it will be a numbered title. The information coming from Famitsu suggest that it will star, our favorite bad guy, Goro Majima!

  • The main character is Goro Majima
  • The story will be something that could not be done for anyone but Majima
  • The keyword and concept for the game are “Destruction”
  • Game systems will see changes at the most fundamental levels
  • Details on the game will be announced at September’s Tokyo Game Show

It should be interesting playing as Majima, seeing as he is the most intresting character in the Yakuza series. No platform has been announced yet, but its safe to assume it will be on the Playstation 3. Maybe they will shock us and make it a Nintendo 3DS title?

K’On After School Live hits Japan in September

SEGA picked up the license to the anime K’On and is making a music game similar to Project Diva, only this one is about a band. The game will be titled “K’On After School Live” and will feature a ad-hoc more where each person will be able to control someone from the band; allowing you all to “rock out.”

Assuming you know someone that is into this sort of game! The game is coming out on September 30th and will cost 6,090 yen ($67).

VF5: Final Showdown to support Twitter

I thought SEGA was going to be the only company to totally ignore Twitter integration, I was wrong. If there is any game I would would ‘freely promote’ to my followers, its Virtua Fighter.

Users that are playing the arcade version will be able to link their Twitter accounts to their VF.net accounts via PC or cellphone. You will be able to follow players on twitter, without needing to leave the arcade.

Hatsune Miku Project Diva Arcade comes out tomorrow

It seems that Japanese audiences can’t get enough Hatsune Miku, even though the game is on PSP, meaning they can play it everywhere; it is coming to arcades. Actually expected the arcade release to come sooner.

The arcade game is basically a port of the first one, with new tracks. They say that the game might be updated via network to have more tracks in the future. They also added “extreme difficulty mode”, if you are feeling adventurous.

Not the end for the franchise, next month, on July 29th, Project Diva 2nd is coming to PSP.
