Valkyria Chronicles’ characters to crossover to Chaos Heroes Online

chaossega_09
We posted before about how SEGA picked up publishing rights to Neoact’s DOTA clone called Chaos Heroes Online. It seems that SEGA isn’t afraid of using its franchise’s to get people on the new game, since they have announced new bonus characters Alicia Melchiott and Selvaria Bles from Valkyria Chronicles. There are alternative ‘bikini’ costumes, but those will be bought by in-game cash. Talk about literally whoring out your characters.  Hit the jump and check out the game footage along with a ton of screens.

Capcom x Sega x Namco Bandai project gets named and crossover characters get revealed [update #2] high quality scans!

We have been posting about the collaboration project with SEGA, Namco-Bandai, and Capcom. Thankfully for you we have the first details thanks to Famitsu. The game will be called Project X Zone (pronounced Project Cross Zone)

Project X Zone will be a strategy RPG featuring “iconic” characters from all three publishers. According to Famitsu, the characters in the game will team up in pairs for fighting scenes. So who got into the game? Hit the jump to see the revealed characters…

Valkyria Duel gets trademarked by SEGA

Looks like we may have more games in the Valkyria universe coming, if a recent trademark filing by Sega of Japan is any indication. Though the series of strategic RPGs has gained a fairly strong following in Japan, it never managed to attain more than cult status in the West, in part due to its move to the PSP after the first (incredibly well-received) installment on the PS3.

We’ll of course keep you posted on any updates should this trademark actually become a game, though whether it would come to the West, especially given SEGA West’s current financial hardships, would be another matter entirely.

Valkyria Chronicle’s Selvaria gets recreated in Soulcalibur V

We already know that Namco wants to have a crossover game with SEGA, but if you can’t get the big blue to agree at least you can add a create a fighter feature. Here is someone recreating Selvaria from SEGA’s fan favorite game Valkyria Chronicles.

In the same post over at Siliconera they have more recreated video game characters, so if creating characters is your thing you should head over there.

Valkyria Chronicles 2: World Artworks Book is coming to America

Valkyria Chronicles has some amazing art, so its good to see the Japanese artbooks get American releases. This is going to be the second Valkyria Chronicles artbook that publisher Udon has published in America. The first art book released had art from the first title, this new one is going to be based on the PSP sequel.

If you guys want to pre-order the art book, you can do so on Amazon. The book is listed for $31.24, with a release date of April 10th, 2012.

SEGA teases upcoming Valkyria Chronicles news

We are slowly heading into next month, which will be the month SEGA Japan shows off titles at the Tokyo Game Show… now all of a sudden they are teasing news on their site? Shocking? This time last year they started teasing Valkyria Chronicles 3 for the PSP. What do you think it is this time?

There is one small issue, the site says its a ‘small update’. This probably wouldn’t be a new game. Maybe an art book? How about Valkyria Chronicles 3 extended for Vita? Yeah, that would rock.

Udon releases Valkyria Chronicles Art Book

I think any gamer who has played or seen Valkyria will attest to the fact that the games unique water colors art style was one of the main draws for the game. I first remember when I saw screen shots of the game I was baffled as to whether they wear concept arts or in game screen shots it wasn’t until I saw the game in motion till I realised this was actually in game.

Anyway SEGA released an Art Book showcasing the beautiful art of the game with the developers and artistis discussing as well. Additionally the art book shows art that didn’t make it in the game such as the swim suit costume for Silveria (cause no art book is complete without objectifying the characters).

So this art book was released a few years back in Japan but Udon has just released a translated copy.

Check out some of the pages from the book at Kotaku.

Valkyria Chronicles 3 – New DLC Trailer

From what I can gather this trailer highlights multiple DLC releases including six new ‘Hard EX’ missions which will release for 200 Yen ($2.40) each and two additional ‘Story Episodes’ at 600 Yen ($7.30) each.
The Story Episodes will allow you to play as fan favorite characters such as Alicia, Wekin, Isara and Edy as well as some new weaponry.

Meanwhile here we are in the West still waiting for the vanilla game, hurry up Sega!

Want to donate to Japan relief and get some cool SEGA swag?

Well, you still can. It looks like SEGA Of America is about done auctioning off their items, having raised thousands of dollars by selling rare merchandise on eBay the past couple of weeks.

Well, they still have a few items up. If you’re into cosplay, two Valkyria Chronicles uniforms are up for grabs, as well as some Aliens Vs. Predator games, a rare Sonic & Tails 1992 SEGA watch, and more.

Get them while you still can, and help out a truly noble cause.

Valkyria Chronicles anime DVD listed on UK retailer website

If you didn’t know, SEGA did an anime based on the characters from the first game of their Valkyria Chronicles franchise. So far the anime stayed in Japan, but it seems it might be coming out in the west, at least in the UK.

HMV listed the DVD on their webpage, with a cover that doesn’t look like the Japanese ones.  All the info isn’t there, I guess we will have to see. Hopefully it has a decent dub.
