Three songs on the demo:

  • Last Note – “Akasuki Arrival”
  • doriko – “Romeo and Cinderella”

Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F 2nd is coming to both Playstation 3 and Playstation Vita in Japan in early 2014. No Western release dates have been revealed.

Check out Phantasy Star Online 2’s super hard mode in action

Above is a video showing off the October update for Phantasy Star Online 2: Episode 2. The start of the video shows off the new Super Hard mode.

You also get to see new skill levels since they bumped leveling up to 65. This means that if you max out your skills you get two additional skills to play with. Along with all this they have new rare enemies and new rare interrupt events. Interrupt events is basically an event that happens randomly and the player can choose to attack, defend and other objective to finish the quest.

This game looks so great, its a shame that its not out here in the West. SEGA needs to get up off their ass and confirm if its coming out, if not we can just play the damn Japanese version with the English patch.

Puyo Puyo Tetris trailer solves the ‘how it plays’ puzzle

We announced that SEGA was planning the ultimate puzzle crossover earlier this week and now we have a trailer (above) of the game in action. Knowing that both Puyo Puyo and Tetris have their own rules, how would SEGA combined them? It seems that one player will be able to play either Puyo Puyo rules or Tetris rules or vice versa.

As far as the trailer go, it is really in the vein of ‘Puyo Puyo’ with bright cheerful tone that reminds us of Puyo Puyo Fever. At TGS SEGA showed off ‘swap mode’ that will have players switching between Tetris and Puyo Puyo games or the option to play Tetris vs Tetris/Puyo vs Puyo. The game is set to release in Japan on the Playstation 3, Playstation Vita, Nintendo 3DS, and Wii U sometime next year.

Yakuza: Ishin to be a Playstation 4 launch title, also coming to Playstation 3

Above is the first trailer for Yakuza: Ishin, shown off at SCEJA Press Conference 2013! If you want to see the trailer without the English voice over, click here.

The game was announced as a Playstation 4 launch title, but will also be coming out on the Playstation 3 for those not picking up a Playstation 4 at launch. The game will also feature crossplay with the Vita!

Yakuza Ishin will be out in Japan on February 22nd, 2014. As for a western release? According to NeoGAF user Verendus, who is known as a legit insider in the strict community, this one is definitely coming West. What do you guys think?

SEGA’s Project 575 revealed: Vocaloid iOS App And A PS Vita rhythm/puzzle game

SEGA has been teasing Project 575 for a month and now they finally tell us what the whole fuzz is about. SEGA said Project 575 will be two things, one a app for iOS called Song Composer 575. Like the name suggest the app will allow you to synthesize your voice to sound very Vocaloid-ish. When it launches, you will be able to convert your voice  to sound like either of the two main characters, Azuki Masoka or Matcha Kobayashi. The point? Create vocaloid inspired music.

SEGA will promote the app by giving it to already to popular Vocaloid composers. The app also lets you watch both of the girls dance, allowing you to dress them up and take creepy augmented reality photos of them. The app is set to release on July 26th on iOS in Japan. If you pre-register for the game, they will give users a free waitress costume (oh boy!).

As for the Playstation Vita game…

Round Table: Our favorite games of E3 2013

RoundTableE32013

This year’s E3 is now behind us and all the talk about what games people liked is continuing. So it is only fair for us here at SEGAbits to have a Round Table telling you which games we are looking forward to getting our hands on! After the break, find out what our writers liked most from SEGA, as well as their favorite non-SEGA E3 titles.

Nagoshi: New Yakuza unlikely to come to Wii U

Now that SEGA and Nintendo have announced Yakuza 1&2 HD coming to the Wii U, everyone is asking the question if the new upcoming Yakuza game will appear on Nintendo’s console. In a new interview Nagoshi has stated that it seems unlikely. Yakuza 1&2 HD on Wii U marks the first time ever (not counting mobile phone games) that the series has appeared on a console not made by Sony. When asked if it would be coming to the 3DS, he stated simply no.

But what about the Vita? He said that it seems something natural for people to expect. So it seems if you want your Yakuza fix, it is guaranteed on Sony platforms. I say, the more platforms the better.

Yakuza’s Kazuma Kiryu to be a downloadable character in Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational

yakuzagolf
SEGA has made Yakuza series one of the biggest Playstation only series’ this generation and seems the franchise is getting a bit deeper ties with Sony. Kazuma Kiryu is set to be a paid downloadable character in Sony Computer Entertainment Japan’s latest Hot Shots Golf game.

You will be able to download the infamous, 7 foot tall gangster for a overpriced 500 yen ($5). This isn’t the first time Kazuma has golfed, since the Yakuza series has featured Golf mini-games in their past titles. Hey Sony, how about adding him in PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale?

SEGA has another Hatsune Miku game up their sleeves

hatsunetease
Hatsune Miku is on fire over there in Japan, with her latest cameos and now a new teaser site for a new game. All we know is that the game is set to be revealed in 3 days via Famitsu, which usually leaks information earlier than publishers intend to.

So with SEGA West expressing interest in bringing over Project Diva F, maybe its wiser to wait it out and release this new one. But what console or handheld will it be on? Vita again? Playstation 4? I guess we will find out.

Phantasy Star Online 2: Episode 2 footage to be shown April 9th

PSO2BigFish
We posted last month that SEGA announced the first expansion pack to Phantasy Star Online 2, titled Code Episode 2. Satoshi Sakai stated that they will show footage during their live Nico Nico broadcast on April 9th (which happens to be my birthday, thank you Sakai!).

He also talked about a new update that is hitting the Playstation Vita later this month. This update will allow players to customize the controls in the game and chat adjustments.

So what about us Phantasy Star fans in the west? Well, SEGA’s last update was that it was delayed and didn’t give a release date…

SEGA announces Phantasy Star Online 2: Code Episode 2

PSO21
During the Sympathy Concert to celebrate the Phantasy Star’s 25th anniversary SEGA and Sonic Team announced their first expansion pack for Phantasy Star Online 2. The expansion is being called Code Episode 2. Below is some of the keywords we know so far from the trailer that was shown at the event.

  • Oracle’s Collapse
  • Arks Road/Lord?
  • Photoners
  • “Who is the real enemy?”
  • The Third Darkers
  • The Beginning and End of the Arks
  • New Race, New Planet, New Classes.
  • New Weapon Categories.
  • Coming this Summer!

So it seems that it is confirmed that it will have new playable races, new planets and new character classes. More of everything you want, this Summer… While we wait in America for them to port the non-expansion packed version. Get on it SEGA West, stop delaying it.

SEGA Japan’s new PS3/Vita teaser game revealed

ps3socer
Above is the newest teaser image from the unannounced SEGA Japan game. The game is supposed to come out on the Playstation 3 and the Playstation Vita. According to the Famitsu leak this week, the game is going to be a new entry in the “Let’s make a soccer team!” franchise that SEGA has in Japan.

Seems to me that this was a huge disappointment. But hey, did you know the last game in 2006 was developed by Smilebit?

SEGA West confirms Phantasy Star Online 2 delay

Phantasy_Star_Online_2_Vita
Are you one of the many people waiting for the Western release of Phantasy Star Online 2? Well there is some good news, SEGA has stated that the game has been delayed. This might not be the fantastic news you wanted, but in the end at least SEGA is mentioning the intention of still releasing it.

“Originally slated for an early 2013 launch, Sega can officially confirm that PS02 has been delayed. We don’t have any specifics but will update everyone as soon as there are more details to share.”

Well, all I hope is that the title is ready before summer so it can eat all my hours and make me depressed come October.

SEGA Japan opens up teaser site for an unannounced Playstation 3/Vita title

Teaser

Ever since last year when SEGA West stated they will be reducing a lot of their boxed game output, we haven’t really gotten too many big new game announcements from the blue S, especially from their Japanese branch. But it looks like SEGA Japan is up to their teasing ways, opening up a site for a new unannounced game. The only clues we have on the page is a field of grass with dust falling, that it will be on PS3/Vita and the title ‘SEGA NEW PROJECT 0328’.

What could it be? I guess we will find out March 28th. But since we have a week to kill, what do you think it is?
