Sorry, but HauntedByTheLight didn’t get top comment. Please check again.

Alright. Stop being a sore loser. HauntedByTheLight did have one of the top comments. This doesn’t change anything, it shouldn’t. I checked myself. The person HauntedByTheLight has the top comment.

    • John B. says:

Please review what the video says at 0:22:

“…the highest voted comment on this video will be guaranteed a manual.”

Whatever YouTube chooses to show as “Top Comment,” the highest voted comment is, in fact, mine. I’m simply pointing out the mistake here.

    • DianeTheWicked says:

Her comment is shown as the top comment. The first comment you see is hers. It is above all the other comments.

    • John B says:

Be that as it may, my comment still has more votes. It’s pretty common knowledge that YouTube’s comment filtering does not always show the highest rated comments like it’s supposed to.

Either way, the video said the comment with the most votes is guaranteed to win. I don’t know how else to explain this.

    • DianeTheWicked says:

I also noticed that you commented twice. Deleting one of your comments the other day. So you tried to cheat. Many people saw your first comment. And then you commenting a second time after deleting the first.

    • DianeTheWicked says:

I’m sorry but by this point everyone knows you only made this post because you didn’t want to lose. There are always other contests out the there.

    • John B says:

Yes, I deleted my comment by mistake while trying to edit it, so I posted another one.

Of course I made this post so I could make sure I didn’t lose. What exactly are you commenting for?

Enlighten me; how exactly would I have cheated at something like this?

    • DianeTheWicked says:

If you watch the video everyone was only allowed one comment per person. However if deleting it was a mistake it’s not cheating. But that still didn’t mean that you won. I am commenting to show the facts. HauntedByTheLight does in fact have the top comment. Almost anyone can clearly see that. She also has the most likes. I am not here on a particular side. However I will go with the facts that I see. And from what I have watched over the last couple days. 1 HauntedByTheLight did not delete her comment, or repost a comment. 2 this person got the most likes and there for is the top comment. 3 the person is the first comment you see when you scroll past the video to the comment section. 4 the moment this person won you came on here trying to keep that person that you were in compatition with from winning. Here let me enlighten you further. This person has already been confirmed as a winner. You see contests are suppose to be fun there are suppose to be both winners and losers in this contest. But there are also bystanders like me who like the comments and watches to see who wins. So as a by stander, I may not have entered the contest, but I clearly saw who won. So coming on here to review the happy comments of who won is an interest to me. Because I like to see people having fun in these contests. However there is always someone that thinks they are better and that they should have won when they didn’t. And you see why I am here now, I am here to explain that contests aren’t everything and that there are many others you can join in and possibly win, it’s fun. You did have fun competing didn’t you? Just because you lost this time doesn’t mean you can’t win another contest later on down the road. It is all in good fun. And even though you didn’t win. At least some people did. Don’t get upset for losing, be happy that people won.

    • John B. says:

“1 HauntedByTheLight did not delete her comment, or repost a comment.”

There’s nothing in the rules saying you can’t delete your current comment and post a new one if you’re not satisfied with the one you already made. At no point in this contest did I have more than one comment.

“2 this person got the most likes and there for is the top comment. ”

This just isn’t true. I don’t know how else to put it. At the close of the contest last night, my comment had 30 likes and hers had 25.

“3 the person is the first comment you see when you scroll past the video to the comment section.”

This doesn’t mean they had the highest voted comment, which the video states is the condition for a guaranteed win. A quick Google search will show you that YouTube’s “Top Comment” filtering does not always show the comment with the most votes.

“4 the moment this person won you came on here trying to keep that person that you were in compatition with from winning.”

Yes, because I was waiting on the post to see if I won. If you met the conditions for winning something and you didn’t get it (especially such a rare item), how would you react?

Anyway, this contest was indeed a good time and I enjoyed writing about what I felt was one of the most gorgeous levels in the Sonic series, but given the clearly-stated conditions of the contest, I see no reason I shouldn’t have won. I’m not upset because I lost, I’m upset because my entry met the winning conditions but was seemingly overlooked.

At the end of the day, no amount of arguing is going to do us any good.
It’s up to the content creator here to decide what to do.

I cannot believe I won! I never win anything! Thank you SEGAbits so much!

  3. neoesquire says:

Sent my details your way! Thank you sooo much again! This is going to go great with my homemade Genesis case!

  4. BroWren says:

Awesome. Can you guys put out a PDF or something so us losers can print it at least?

    • George says:

I’ll scan it soon and post it up as a post.

    • Wrz says:

Any update on the scans? Thanks.

    • Kaitlyn Hair says:

      Hello George,
I was wondering if you know anything about the Giveaway Introduction Manuals were mailed off. I’ve already messaged on this site asking about it on the Sept. 20th and messaged on SEGAbIts Facebook which was on the 20th too. However never once I’ve been given a reply or update, not only that it turns out I’m not the only one that’s wondering if they got mailed off too since a hand full of the winners haven’t gotten theirs yet. Please let me know very soon, thanks for reading.

  5. Louis Jones says:

Didn’t win but thanks for chance guys! 😀

  6. Joshua says:

Have any of the winners gotten their manuals yet?

    • Kaitlyn Hair says:

I was one of the winners for the Top Youtube Comment and Facebook one. However I didn’t get both of giveaways yet. I wrote them on facebook on Wednesday but they never reply back to me so I messaged them on here.

  7. Joshua says:

Won YouTube one and haven’t gotten it yet. It kind of worries me due to Me moving very soon.

  8. Fletch says:

Won one through the site here, haven’t received mine yet either. Good to know I’m not the only one still waiting because I was starting to fear maybe I was just the only one that had his lost or something. (I mean, I hope EVERYONE gets theirs, of course!)

    • Kaitlyn Hair says:

OMGOSH YOU DIDN’T IT TOO!??! OK clearly they aren’t given them out. I messaged them on Sept 20th, but never once did they reply to me to this day. Parts of me believe we aren’t going to get it. 🙁

  9. neoesquire says:

Never got mine either. Got one response on twitter from them at the end of Sept. saying they mailed them out on the 23rd of that month, but have not responded after that and I never received it. 🙁

    • Kaitlyn Hair says:

You never got yours too and still today you haven’t gotten it? It’s been over 6 months. I believe they lied to us. At least you got a response, I’ve been waiting for mine on facebook and on here for 5 months.

    • neoesquire says:

Nope, still haven’t seen it and no more responses. I thought about tweeting Aaron Webber/Sonic about it and seeing what happens. I know they weren’t involved per se, but maybe they could help.

  10. neoesquire says:

    UPDATE: 01/13 the manual came!

Postdated 1/10 so keep an eye out for it.

    • Kaitlyn Hair says:

Really? Why so long? It’s been over 6 months… I’ll keep an eye out for it. Thanks

    • neoesquire says:

Meh, I’m of the mind that sometimes things just happen. For 6 months even. Just glad it showed up and I hope everyone gets theirs as well. Cheers

  11. Stephen Madison says:

This is getting ridiculous. I have waited about 8 months close to a year, for SEGABits to follow through with sending me my prize. Honestly it’s come to the point that it’s no longer the prize but the principle of the matter. When you put out a contest, a prize is supposed to be given to the or multiple winners. IF YOU HAVE COMPLICATIONS YOU POLITELY KEEP PEOPLE INFORMED. You DO NOT keep people in the dark for close to a year because you just “don’t want to deal with it.” I like SEGABits, they provide excellent news on SEGA and Sonic and I really do think they’re a great fansite. But this is honestly so, again, ridiculous on how this contest was handled. Hopefully, someday, they actually let people know why it’s taken so long. I will continue to politely ask of the whereabouts of the prize until I receive it. Please SEGABits, if your not going to give us the prize, please just say so, or if you ARE having difficulties, PLEASE make it known as that is the mature and polite thing to do. Thank you.

    • Kaitlyn Hair says:

I fully agree with you Stephen! I’ve been waiting for two of my prizes to come in from SEGABits too. Me and my friend made a video talking about it in January on Youtube. We are in the works of making the second part of it soon. Only one person that has claim to say they got their Manual is neoesquire. Neoesquire said they got there’s in January but mine hasn’t came in yet. I tried talking to SEGABits on Facebook and on here but they never wrote me back. I don’t believe you or I are getting our prizes.

  12. Stephen Madison says:

It’s pretty frustrating. I did get a message from one of them on Twitter when I made a comment about how I never recieved my prize. He said they would be sending it to me soon, and that he’d put a tracker on it. So hopefully you and I will be getting ours soon.
