Atlus just announced that Hatsune Miku, the vocaloid that SEGA can’t stop making rhythm games of, is going to appear in upcoming DLC for Persona 4: Dancing All Night. She will be dancing to “Heaven feat. Hatsune Miku (ATOLS Remix)”, seemingly based on the song of the same name from Persona 4.
The DLC will be released next month in Japan. You can find screenshots and artwork for it below. And remember: this is canon.
From the Tokyo Game Show comes a crazy bit of crossover news. While showing off the iOS Border Break game, Gun Front Gale, and the arcade game Border Break Union (version 3.0 of the game), SEGA announced that a number of Yakuza characters will cameo in the arcade version of the game. It seems, however, that it has yet to be revealed just how the characters will be worked in. Only illustrations and the promise of cameos were revealed. As for version 3.0, 10 player co-op will be possible and the game will hit Japanese arcades on October 11th. Click here for more photos from the event.

Archie Comics has released more promotional art for their 2013 Sonic & Mega Man crossover event. This time they’re showing off Sonic’s rivals who, in turn, have their own rivals. Looks like Knuckles will be meeting Mega Man’s rival Proto Man, while Shadow will meet Bass. I gotta say, these team ups really work well! Far better than a Mario crossover, in my opinion. So who is next? While, I’d imagine Tails will be paired with Doctor Light and I’d love to see Amy Rose paired with Tron Bonne. I could even see more obscure Archie Sonic characters, like Sonic’s dog Muttski, paired with Mega Man’s dog Rush. We shared the teaser, but here’s the official announcement. Archie Comics, SEGA and Capcom have officially announced a twelve issue comic book cross-over of the Sonic and Mega Man franchises, entitled “When Worlds Collide”, to be released in 2013. The cross-over will span four issues of Sonic the Hedgehog, four issues of Mega Man and four issues of Sonic Universe to create a twelve issue story. Archie’s Paul Kaminski shared a few details on the event: “We’ve been gearing up for this for years. From the moment we had Mega Man at Archie, we knew we wanted to bring Sonic and the Blue Bomber together. It’s a big budget movie featuring two of the most storied video game franchises. This has never happened before. We’re making history here, and it’s going to knock people for a loop. This is what comics are all about – drama, fun, action and tons of surprises. Fans will not be disappointed.”
Akira Yuki of Virtua Fighter has been announced to be a guest character in Dead or Alive 5. Could this be an early sign of Virtua Fighter X DOA? Akira’s addition marks the first time that the Dead or Alive franchise has added a character from another fighting game to their roster. studio head of Team NINJA Yosuke Hayashi said, “Gamers will have an opportunity to enjoy an unforgettable battle with an esteemed competitor in Akira Yuki set in the Dead or Alive environment. This year will prove to be an amazing one for our loyal fighting fans as we are delivering a fantastic fighting game that can only been experienced in Dead or Alive 5.”
This SEGA fanboy says: Hayashi failed to note that an even more fantastic fighting game known as Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown is set for release this year.
Expect DOA5 to release this year to the XBOX 360 and Playstation 3. Once you buy VF5: Final Showdown, you are allowed to purchase DOA5.
SEGA announced that they would be doing a Sakura Wars tie-in for Phantasy Star Portable 2 Infinity… they teased it way back in November of last year.

The next Soul Cailbur game is in early production and it has already been confirmed that the team wants to add ‘guest characters’ from other franchises, which the series has been known to do. Many fans have been fighting it out in discussions, suggesting their favorite characters. Kamiya even re-tweeted fans asking for Bayonetta in the next Soul Cailbur installment.
Well, it doesn’t end there, Tekken director Katsuhiro Harada also likes the idea of having Bayonetta in the next Soulcalibur title. This is not the first time the Tekken team has wanted to do something with a SEGA IP, awhile back they chatted about wanting to do a Virtua Fighter vs. Tekken game.
I doubt SEGA will approve the use of Bayonetta in the game, but I don’t see why they shouldn’t. Free promotion for Bayonetta 2.

More Phantasy Star Portable 2 Infinity tie-ins have been announced. I know you are excited. Just like Phantasy Star Portable 2, this new remix edition will have the Evangelion tie-in and they are adding a tie-in with Gurren Lagann. They are adding the Gainax mecha from Gurren Lagann, as playable. Pretty cool.
The “Gurren Lagann Set” comes with a drill and Gurren Boomerang for male avatars. You can see the drill and boomerang if you check out the gallery after the jump.
Namco Bandai and SEGA have announced that in Hatsune Miku: Project Diva 2nd you will be able to download Idolmaster songs and costumes. SEGA have said they have 2 Idolmaster songs ready, but did not say which ones.
