Personally, I think it’s a great idea. There will definitely be audiences that are sad at the prospect of not seeing Cream, Blaze and everyone else, but there is another large audience who will be happy to see them no make an appearance.
Younger players can do their customized ‘immersion’ thing here, older players won’t have to suffer through Big the Cat fishing levels, and we get to stick to the core speedy gameplay with a few added bonuses. Bravo Sega, I say.
