SEGA Plans to Delist SEGA Classics Games starting December 6th

This news might be disappointing for SEGA fans who care about the preservation of the companies’ rich history of video games ranging from arcade to consoles, including myself and fellow SEGAbits writers. As of now, SEGA plans to delist a selection of games and bundles from virtual stores across gaming platforms including Steam, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and Playstation starting on December 6th at 11:59pm PST.

If you happen to own the games on the following platforms, they will still be available in your library. You can still get them all for very good prices, so be sure not to miss out on the opportunity. Do you all think that this is a bad decision from SEGA or do you think they might have something planned for the titles down the line? Let us know in the comments below and hit the next section of the article to see the list of games that are planned to be delisted.

Oh my God! I was expecting a few… Not a huge part of their catalog. This is crazy. It’s not like they have superior ports, remasters or remakes for most of these games in development so what’s going on?!?

  2. Defender says:

Hope everyone has got a Mini or two.

  3. Zoyous says:

Could just be in anticipation of one or more new collections sooner or later.

    the disease of re release

heads up! sega genesis classic is still available physical. but yeah… this sucks.. I wonder why they are doing this? Especially with Christmas around the corner? maybe they are gonna re-release them again later down the road? 🤔 I just don’t get it… just remember everyone: physical is ( mostly ) forever. sigh….

  6. VirtuaIceMan says:

Very odd, money for old games! I guess you can now play arcade SEGA Bass Fishing inside Like A Dragon Infinite Wealth and there’s a new Crazy Taxi coming eventually…

They’re essentially delisting all the Dreamcast/Saturn era 3D games, as well as the Megadrive/Genesis ones, so on Steam that’s Crazy Taxi, Jet Set Radio, NiGHTS into Dreams, SEGA Bass Fishing, Space Channel 5: Part 2 but NOT Sonic Adventure DX or Sonic Adventure 2, which was from the same era.

  7. KIKI says:

It would be nice if they made another collection named something like “Sega Classic Collection” with all of their games from the Dreamcast back to the Master System or something. That would be cool but doesn’t seem likely, even in the slightest. Maybe a SEGA AGES collection? Again, probably not. The most likely is a Sega Dreamcast and Genesis Collection, which would be phenomenal, especially if we somehow get Phantasy Star Online (GameCube/Xbox version with network support would be unbelievable).

Don’t give me hope man! What I would give for a sega ages style re-release for classic saturn and dreamcast titles! Especially crazy taxi 1 to 3 and of course sa 1 and 2! Ah well… In the meantime, to qoute a great movie that I very fondly remember:”Never give up! Never Surrender! 😆
