New & improved Panzer Dragoon II Zwei remake demo now available for PC

Back in February, Forever Entertainment S. A. launched a demo of their upcoming remake of Panzer Dragoon II: Zwei and most players were, lets just say, not too impressed. Despite its obvious jump in graphical fidelity compared to the Saturn original, the game’s presentation was void of color, life, and detail and generally looked unfinished. Animations and effects didn’t look great either. It was just a far cry from the game’s original look and style and not a good representation of Panzer Dragoon at all. Fortunately, Forever Entertainment took feedback seriously and began introducing some major improvements to the game. They’ve even updated the demo to reflect these upgrades.

The new demo is now available free on Steam and GOG just as the old demo was. A release date for the full game has still not yet been announced yet, but we should all be glad the game didn’t release in the sordid state it was in previously. These are the key improvements made to the demo, taken from the Steam page:

• Improved player movement, aiming visibility, and level paths
• Refined enemy movement, behavior, attack timing, and accuracy
• Updated character, dragon, enemy, and environmental models and animations
• Improved the boss fight, including its arena, behavior, animations, effects, and destruction sequence
• Added and reworked visual effects for projectiles, damage, explosions, destructible objects, and Berserk activation
• Improved the behavior and destruction effects of battleships, turrets, gates, and other enemy units
• Added new sound effects for enemies, weapons, and destructible elements.

Forever Entertainment have also come out and thanked the community personally for their feedback on the previous demo, as they should.

Panzer Dragoon II Zwei Remake is still set to eventually release on PC via Steam and GOG and on Nintendo Switch 1/2, PlayStation 4/5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S/X consoles for $24.99 USD. Panzer Dragoon Remake is still available on all those platforms. In fact, it is now 90% off on both Steam and GOG as of this writing.
