Sonic Colours in next Nintendo power

Sonic Colours, the latest outing for Sonic on the Wii and DS will be revealed in the next Nintendo Power magazine.  So far we don’t know a lot because the magazine isn’t out yet… But there are some preview images floating around the net and they promise something different.  (Don’t they all?)

Hit the jump for more preview images,

The first is the cover art of the magazine,
SONIC REBORN‘ it claims in big red text, I hope so!

The next one along (and the one I’m using for the title picture) is the most interesting. ‘One of the biggest icons looks to get back on track with Sonic Colours, No gimmick necessary, FRESH START .’  I really hope so!

Finally, here is the artwork in its full glory.

I have to say, I really like the artwork, the environment especially looks like the kind of thing I want from a 3D Sonic game. Whimsical and otherworldly, Keep this up Sonic Team!

CANVAS ?! is it using VC's CANVAS Engine !

I dont think so, the CGI art direction doesnt really lend itself to anything canvas-ish I think that seems a bit of a stretch.

When you say 'a fresh canvas' they usually mean that they are starting a new.

But it would have been awesome with the Canvas engine!

Canvas, will probably have to do with coloring. Regardless, glad that SEGA did not get this leaked. Good to see security improving. Don't think anyone expected it.

8-bit GTA?! Wait, what bit was the original GTA?

    original GTA was 32bit.

    SOLO adventure?

I do hope Tails follows you around. I like that. Oh yeah.

The last picture is so damn Sonic! It's like SEGA is trying to take our man Sonic back to his old style.
