Rumor: Sonic to get a new voice actor?

There was a post by SEGA community manager AAUK stating that SEGA has some ‘ground breaking’ news coming regarding Sonic franchise. People seem to think it might be a new voice actor.

Jason Griffith, current voice actor for Sonic has stated that he will not be lending his voice for the upcoming Wii exclusive, Sonic Colors:

“Thanks for sending [a video of Sonic Colours]. Not sure who is voicing Sonic, unfortunately, so I can’t really say. Also, we have all signed NDA’s in the past, so I don’t really “speak up” on a lot of things involving SEGA.”

Or it could be that Sonic 4 and Sonic Colors won’t have voice work. Wouldn’t that be awesome?

I'm gonna miss that "Woo! Feelin' good" and "Wohahoo" lines.

    No. It wouldn't be awesome.

Well Sonic 4 shouldn't have voice IMO. But Colors should. They should get Ryan back.

It would be SOO awesome, I'm REALLY hoping Sonic 4 has no or not much talking… Sonic Colours will though I bet on it.

I hope the next 'main' big cross platform Sonic game keeps bullshit banter and horribly corny lines to a bare minimum.

As much as I am a fan of the orignal Sonic Voice Cast, Jason Griffith was probably the most similar to the orignal Voice Actor.

Sonic has always gotten bad english VA's ever since day one. Hope if they give him a new voice it'll be because they want to do it to make sonic's character more real

It wouldn't be that awesome. It'd just be a voice actor change and that's not really all that franchise changing in my eyes. I'm expecting something to do with the direction of the games from now on. Like only Sonic is going to be playable from now on.
