I was tempted before, but this made me purchase it, glad it wasn't sold out. Although my State was missing from the billing address even though I selected it in the pull down tab. So, I tried to fix it then I had to enter my credit card info again and ended up getting double-charged. I sent them an e-mail, hopefully it all turns out well.

Overall it's a good read. The bonus items are very cool! Though super Sonic fans know most of the history, it's nice to see concept art in print and to have all this information in one place. The review archives are pretty cool. Good mix of classic and modern history (though it leans towards classic). I spotted a few mistakes, mostly a few images incorrectly labeled and some games attributed to the wrong console. Mega Collection is said to be a Game Gear game, not a Gamecube game. Also, I don't recall seeing some games like Gems Collection, G Sonic or the Pico releases despite them claiming to list every Sonic game.

Just got my copy today! Awesome mag.

Gems Collection was the one with Sonic Fighters, Sonic CD, and one more.

  7. ^ Sonic R. It also had the Game Gear games that weren't in Mega Collection. Really, Sonic the Fighters makes it worth having since that game was never released. I prefer playing the original releases of CD and R.

G Sonic is Sonic Blast for Game Gear. A Sonic game for kids using 3-D rendered sprites much like 3-D Blast. It was horrible and could be beaten in a half-hour.

  9. Though lots of people assume Sonic Blast (G Sonic) is a Game Gear port of Sonic 3D Blast. It's like a failed mix of Sonic Triple Trouble and Donkey Kong Country, attempting to be Sonic & Knuckles. Felt more like a bad fan game than an official release.
