SEGA’s list of E3 games goes live

SEGA has posted a list of games they will have at E3. Sadly a few games that are expected are not included. Yep, Anarchy Reigns is missing and Phantasy Star Online 2 is nowhere to be found. I assume some are missing due to being unannounced, like Sonic Adventure 2. Anyway, check out the ‘confirmed’ titles for E3 this year.
  • Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed
  • Aliens: Colonial  Marines
  • Super Monkey Ball Banana Splitz
  • The Cave
  • Hell Yeah!
  • Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown
  • Jet Set Radio

  1. Excited for Transformed. Sure to see gameplay footage and perhaps some character reveals?

Really hoping SA2, PSO2 and Anarchy Reigns are a part of the show.

  2. crackdude says:

Sega should have a press conference. It’s the best way to get attention at games.

  3. Aki-at says:

Seems like a terrible showing. Welp, at least I still have Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown.

  4. Bint says:

This is quite a disapointing list, only 7 games and two are just re-makes that are around the corner, which are welcome of course but still. The only real new interesting title here seems to be transformed, the rest are probably going to turn out sub standared any way. And the reason there is no Phantasy Star Online 2 is because it is a Japan only release with no western release planned yet – if it ever will at all, probably not though because of SEGA downscaling due to their March restructure – which enivitably will make SEGA less SEGA again and more crappy low 3rd party company, again….sigh..

  5. DCGX says:

Maybe they’ll announce some new games. I doubt it, after their restructuring of sort, but one can dream.

From what is there, an not getting released in the next couple weeks, I’m exited to see more of Transformed as well.

  6. Richard says:

I expect pso2 and arnachy reigns to be shown at tokyo game show than e3

  7. Orta says:

Best year in a long while, worst E3 ever?

    • Lil Jon says:

You serious? How is it the best? SEGA is showing less than usuall and only a handfull of these titles look like they might be at least half decent.

    • Orta says:

Binary Domain, Yakuza Dead Souls, Virtua Fighter 5 FS, Phantasy Star Online 2, Shogun 2 expansion, Football Manager 2013, Yakuza 5, the Vintage Collections, House of the Dead 4 on a console, Jet Set Radio HD, Super Monkey Ball on Vita being a return to form apparently, All Stars Racing 2. As a publisher… Aliens, Crush 3D, Anarchy Reigns, Hell Yeah and The Cave.

Little can go wrong with this line up, released or to be released. Sega hasn’t had such a strong year in a long time.

    • Aki-at says:

Add to Orta’s Black Panther 2, Rhythm Thief, Shining Blade… Plenty of quality, just not all being shown at one event so he is right in best year, worst E3 comment.

And I would say outside of Aliens, Monkey Ball and Sonic, the other four titles are going to be great.

    • Caledonian/Scot/Pict says:

Bit of a disapointment right enough, I suppose we will only really see SEGA at their best at the Tokyo Game Show from now on, as SEGA West will be just more of a digital content provider for now into the forseable future.

  8. Sharky says:

The restructuring that people keep talking about was for the Western Sega arm, not the Japanese one.

I have no problem with this, I think Sega West SHOULD focus on digital titles. Digital is the future and to be honest if they are going to be publishing games like Renegade Ops and working with the guy who created Monkey Island (The Cave) I’m pretty happy with that.

I have total faith that PSO2 will be coming west too.

  9. Robert says:

@Bint, Yup that’s what I thought, Phatasy Star Online 2 will be a Japanese exclusive only, SEGA hasn’t said anything about a Western release in these territories and the fact it’s no where in sight at this years E3 show seems to support the view it’s for Japan only, yet people here still think otherwise some how..

  10. Caledonian/Scot/Pict says:

Still, better than nothing, there’s still Jet Set, VF5FS, and Transformed to look forward too and Hell Yeah might be good, I’m hearing good things about Aliens colonials too and it’s sizeable development time. SEGA’s best will likely just be more at the Tokyo Game Show and maybe the AOU show too – if the Arcades are doing any good which they usually are in Japan. I really hope SEGA see sense and give us PSO2 too, brilliant on the Dreamcast PSO was.

  11. Brent says:

What’s this ‘Cave’ game about? I don’t know if it’s just me or not but I’m getting a whiff of another shitty 3rd party low quality title cash in again…….hopefully I may be wrong..

    • Aki-at says:

      What the…

It’s made by one of the top studios in gaming, Double Fine Productions, you must have heard of them… Psychonauts, Brutal Legends, Costume Quest etc, surely you’ve heard of them?

  12. sleepyprince says:

PSO2 in the West makes a lot of sense, since it’s also digital…I hope they see reason and announce it.

  13. Upsidedown Fuji says:

I was hoping for a couple more unknown titles. Oh well, there’s always TGS.

  14. SOUP says:

Hoping for some surprises, but it’s nice to see Virtua Fighter 5 getting the showcase.
I’m still hoping for some Valkyria Chronicles 3

  15. Crazytails says:

Anarchy reigns should have not been missing. What a waste of potential to actually give the game a bit of spotlights

  16. SigmaAlpha says:

SMB Banan Splitz looks quite promising, watched some trailers, tried the demo, and I think it will be the best Monkey Ball since SMB2, looking forward to see more.

But otherwise I’m really hoping for a western PSO2 announcement.

    • SkyBlue says:

Wait, there’s a demo of Banana Splitz? 0_o

Anyway yeah, there isn’t that much on show, but that doesn’t mean they haven’t got any secret reveals coming around.

I hope Valkyria 3 is a hidden reveal but I seriously doubt it.

The only one I’m looking forward to is info on Transformed…I wonder if we’ll get info from people who will have tried the game?

    • SigmaAlpha says:

There’s two actually, but both of them are on the Japanese PSN, so you’ll need a Japanese account.

  17. Drust says:

Maybe if SEGA bothered to show of Yakuza 5, it would give the series some much needed attention in the West, oh wait….it probably wont even come out in the Western world now any way as the main guy at SEGA who managed to convince them of bringing out Yakuza 2, 3 and 4 in the West has left SEGA last week…..oh well…tut tut

  18. Scartis says:

Could this be the year SEGA finally break the silence of the Shenmue situation?……..Next year will mark the tenth anniversary since Sega ever done anything with the Shenmue series, unless of course you live in Europe or Japan where you could get the original Shenmue 2 for the Dreamcast since Nov 2001, in which case it will mark the 12th anniversary over in Japan/Euro nations

  19. Jonboy101 says:

Looks a bit lean to be sure, but loaded with quality. Definitely looking forward to The Cave and Virtual Fighter.
