Keeping my word, this is just a fan film and didn’t expect too much from it. But I still think Marza Entertainment does a better job in making Sonic movies.
I sat and watched the whole thing, and it was not too bad actually. The quality of the E-102 series drones were impressive. The actor for Robotnik, I felt, fit well. Even with a small mustache. The fact that they used his “original” name from the comics lore was pretty cool too. But Sonic. Sonic bothered me. Not the voice, but his look. His mouth and movements bothered me.
I wanted to like it but Sonic’s the wrong colour and why does his fur look matted?
Plus it could have been ten minutes shorter and the music was awful. Not that it was badly composed or anything it just doesn’t fit Sonic. I associate Sonic music with catchy tunes and in the last decade or so cheesey rock.
It had good points, the effects were mostly very good (though why didn’t the G.U.N. troops weapons have muzzle flash) and it was shot very well with some excellent camerawork.
Overall 4 out of 10.
