Currently no plans for Phantasy Star Nova in the West

PhantasyStarNova-5

If you were looking forward to playing Phantasy Star NOVA in English, you may be out of luck. The website SEGA-Addicts just reached out to Kellie Parker for a statement regarding PSN’s status in the West and this is what she had to say:

There are currently no plans to release Phantasy Star Nova in the Western market. Should this change, we will ensure the information is shared as soon as possible.

It’s disappointing to hear that SEGA currently has “no plans” to bring Nova west. The game will be the first Phantasy Star game since the Genesis titles to primarily focus on single player. Provided the game is as fun as it looks, it’s a real shame it might not be coming our way.

It’s about as single-player focused as PSU single player was

  2. Nux says:

PSU had a huge focus on an online mode. PSN doesn’t even have an online mode.

Just because there’s no online mode doesn’t mean that the single player experience isn’t similar. PSU had one of the most extensive single experiene beside there being an online mode.

I’m expecting, from what I saw that this game will play very similar to pso2. But structured differently, more similar to psu as in less randomness and more story driven

But the online mode was an extensive part of Universe. NOVA is a single player experience with a local multiplayer mode.

If it makes you feel any better, I’ll amend the comment slightly.

200+ Staff working on the game and SEGA of America claims they have “no plans to bring it over”.

Just….let ATLUS USA take over SoAs duties please…SoA doesn’t know how to market anything other than Sonic anymore.

In fact, just make SoA, Sonic PR squad since that’s all they’re good for now.
