SEGA Tunes: Skies of Arcadia’s OST will make you feel adventurous

Skies of Arcadia is a special game that had just the right amount of charm to win me over. Skies of Arcadia is just one of those games where you really like the bright colorful world and cheery character personalities, despite its random battle encounters and parts in the game that lead to frustration. Not only that, the game had an epic soundtrack that gives you a sense of adventure. Listen to the main theme above and tell me this doesn’t make you want to go exploring some caverns or travel in exotic locations?

This week on Tuesday Tunes we will be listening to some of my personal favorite tracks in Skies of Arcadia. Hit the jump and set your volume to an appropriate volume.

This track gives me a big anime vibe, in a good way. The excellent track is played when your team, the Blue Rogues, in the game are introduced and pretty appropriate music to play. This track stuck to my mind just because of how awesome it felt like to have my own pirate ship and crew, the developers really gave you a sense that you where a bunch of ragtag pirates. This is a great track.

This track titled “Hatred” should have been titled ‘Really sad and haunting song’, considering it was played during a characters death (no plot spoilers here!) and has a haunting marching type beat to it. Very nice contrast to the rest of the soundtrack.

The Temple Theme playing above stuck with me, not because it was a amazing track (its a good track) but because I was stuck in this section for a long time. You see, Skies of Arcadia has a problem where the difficulty ramps up during this section. I literally fought the boss like a million times in a row figuring out combinations of spells and tactics to destroy my enemy. After a million times of hearing my Dreamcast’s lens reader make its grinding noises before battles, I finally destroyed my enemy. It was a very lazy summer (per usual) for kid George, but a very enjoyable one.

We just had a look see at 4 tracks from the Skies of Arcadia soundtrack, but there are plenty more great tracks. Below is the soundtrack in its entirety.

Let me know what your favorite tracks from Skies of Arcadia’s soundtrack are in the comments below.
