Bayonetta is coming to Super Smash Bros

Seems that Nintendo really wants to push Bayonetta, not only did they pick up funding and publishing for Bayonetta 2; but they are now adding her as a DLC character in Super Smash Bros on the Wii U and 3DS.

Bayonetta will join other big DLC characters like Cloud (Final Fantasy 7), Ryu (Street Fighter) and the newly announced Corrin (Fire Emblem). Nintendo is aiming for a February release. The character and new Bayonetta stage will be $5.99 for one platform (3DS or Wii U) but if you want it bundled on both it only costs $6.99.

So what do you guys think? Good choice for a DLC character? Any other SEGA owned properties that you would like to see in Super Smash Bros?

  1. Looks like they toned down the cleavage. So does this mean a Bayonetta amiibo and 8-bit Bayonetta in Super Mario Maker?

I’m not a Smash fan, and this has a 0% chance of happening, but Ristar’s rubber-band play mechanics would translate so well to that game. Really, it’d be a joy to play if they got it right. It would be extremely wise promotion for Yu if they could get Ryo Hazuki in there. All of my favorite suggestions, like Opa-Opa, Segata Sanshiro, and The Hornet (a nice throwback to Megamix) have basically no chance though.

Sadly that’s it now for Smash DLC.

This will likely never happen but I hope for Smash on the NX they decide to go down a different path and make a Nintendo v Sega version. Likely the only way we’ll ever get to see certain Sega characters back and the way Smash is made you know everyone of them would be given the care, attention and love Sega refuse to give them.

This article got one major thing wrong.

Bayonetta isn’t a “SEGA-owned property”. That’s not how publishing a game, and porting, works.

The first Bayonetta was originally being developed by PlatinumGames exclusively for the Xbox 360. SEGA came in and offered to publish the game and port it to the PlayStation 3, in addition to advertising the game.

Not to mention that SEGA never funded the first game. I don’t know why people like to believe that, as there’s literally NO evidence of SEGA funding Bayonetta anywhere.

I love the no proof you posted because everyone knows you are lying to yourself. Now that its out of the way.

It says it in the back of the box, right in the fine print. Why do you think SEGA’s logo splashes when Bayonetta 2 came out, even tho they neither published or developed it? Its because they own the IP. Bayonetta and its likeness is a property of SEGA and this was announced way back in 2008 when SEGA and Platinum Games announced their partnership. Further more SEGA got a animated movie and a pachinko slot machine created as well, all baring their logo cuz ya kno… they own the IP.

So where is your proof that everyone but you is lying?
