Phantasy Star Portable 2 Infinity has Nico Nico Douga items

Nico Nico Douga (translates to “Smiley Smiley Videos”) is a Japanese online video sharing site that is quite popular. It is basically the YouTube of Japan. Well, the site will have tie-in promo with the upcoming Phantasy Star Portable 2: Infinity.

You will be able to get TV-Chan and Niwango object for your room. Both are pictured above. SEGA still has more items to show in the near future, so lets hope for more SEGA tie-ins and less advert stuff.

Game hits Japanese shores on February 24, 2011. No western announcement has been made.

Crazy Taxi achievements hit the net

Crazy Taxi will be able to boost your achievement/Trophy score when it releases next month, but don’t expect a big boost. Like most downloadable games, it will have 12 achievements and only be worth 200 points.

But you already figured this much out, lets check out them achievements. Also note: that the trophies will be the same as the achievements.

NIS America bringing Neptune RPG West

The Compile Hearts developed and SEGA published (in Japan) Neptune RPG (full name “Super Dimensional Game Neptune”) will be brought to North America and Europe by NIS America. They will be changing the name of the game, for copyright reasons. The Western release will be known as “Hyperdimension Neptunia”.

If you didn’t already know, SEGA will have some retro IPs guest star in this RPG. If you didn’t see the list, we did an old post about here. The game will be hitting exclusively to Playstation 3 in Spring of 2011.

I’m playing through the game to do a review, trust me, if you love the demo it only gets crazier and more awesome as the game continues. It is really good!

Media Create Sales: Vanquish first chart appearance

We posted the first day sales for Vanquish a few days ago and sadly the weekly charts didn’t change a whole lot. The charts ended on October 24th and the game came out in Japan on October 21st. That is about 4 days to sell.

  • Vanquish PS3: 48,318 (4th place)
  • Vanquish 360: 11.204 (14th place)

That is about the same as the first day numbers of 47k on PS3 and 9k on Xbox 360. I hope that the game continues selling next week on this pace, but it doesn’t seem like it will. Damn shame.

Xbox Live Indie game inspired by Panzer Dragoon Orta

We all loved Panzer Dragoon Orta, which was one of the early releases on the Xbox. Problem is that the game didn’t sell to hot, doesn’t mean that it will stop Xbox Live Indie creators from paying homage to the title.

What is the game called? Leucistic Wyvern. You can get it for a dollar (80 MS points) in the indie store. The game comes with 9 stages, 6 of which are bonus stages.

Hayes says early Vanquish sales are encouraging

We already know how Vanquish did on its first day in Japan, but what about the America? Mike Hayes seems pretty positive.

“It’s been in the marketplace for two days, we’ve seen the day one numbers and we’re reasonably encouraged, but I think we need to see the rest of week one and probably week two just to see how it’s going to play out

“The challenge is that it’s a new franchise and that it’s releasing head-to-head with a lot of established franchises in the busiest time of the year.” – Mike Hayes CEO SEGA West

Vanquish came out on October 19th in North America, comes out tomorrow in Europe. Also, IGN gave us a shout out on this article, check the source link.

Aliens vs Predator coming to PSN?

So i’m flipping through the manual of Vanquish, looking for whatever I can find. I look at the back to see if there is more artwork and see this AvP ad. I didn’t think much at first, then I saw that it was ‘Available To Download On Playstation Network’.

So I went to the Playstation Store and checked, it isn’t on there. I guess it will be on there and they rushed it to printing. So, fair warning, if you want a digital copy of the game, its coming. If you work at making manuals for SEGA, learn release schedules.

End of Eternity testing out new 360 budget packaging

Yes, End of Eternity (Western title Resonance of Fate) has went budget priced in Japan. Not only that, it is one of the first games to get the new ‘platinum collection’ packaging from Microsoft.

So what did the old packaging look like? Check out the old Platinum Collection box art for Bayonetta. Yeah, it has improved for the better. End of Eternity reprint is coming out in Japan on December the 2nd.

Vanquish first day Japanese sales are in

The first day sales for Vanquish are in and seem rather low. They aren’t a total failure, but I sort of assumed it would beat a Naruto game.

  • Vanquish PS3: 47,000 units
  • Vanquish 360: 9,000 units

Hopefully they sell more copies this whole week. For reference, the Naruto game on PS3 sold 72,000 copies and 13,000 on Xbox 360. I guess its too much to outsell a big anime IP like Naruto.

Bayonetta’s first day sales in Japan where much more positive, selling 93,000 on the PS3 and the Xbox 360 version selling 45,000 units. A Bayonetta size hit this game is not, at least in Japan.
