SEGA’s Arcade company, Sega Amusements, announced a Transformers arcade title was in the works and has recently uploaded a teaser trailer of the upcoming game.
It seems to be a new light gun game due to the two colored cursors on the screen and may be similar to Terminator Salvation. I certainly can’t wait to play this game at a near Dave and Busters or Gameworks, how about you guys?

News has it that Funimation has picked up the license rights to rerelease Sakura Wars: The Movie on Blu Ray Disc this morning. A source from Twitter states that the movie will still retain the Geneon Dub with added extra features. The movie was previously released on DVD and PSP UMD by Geneon a few years back. The movie’s plot follows the Imperial Assault Force after Lt. Ogami Ichiro departs to Paris and are later introduced to Star Division’s member Rachete Altair to battle against the upcoming evil that is descending upon the Imperial Capital.
If your a fan of SEGA media, you should check this movie out when it’s rereleased on Blu Ray. Now if only Funimation can obtain the TV series rights for Toonami. Hit the jump to see the Twitter announcements.
Reported on SEGAbits in 2011, BBC Earth partnered with SEGA to create a unique visitor experience that would fuse nature with technology and offer an entirely new multi-sensory adventure that revolves around our planet. Developed by SEGA’s Facility Business, the trailer for Orbi shows mother nature at her finest, featuring immersive animal and nature footage. The video also shows off what the layout of the attraction will look like once Orbi opens.

Capcom-Unity in collabration with Namco Bandai Games and SEGA West are hosting a fan art contest for Project X Zone, which is set be released on June 25 in the US and July in Europe, to have your favorite Capcom character dressed as another character from Namco or SEGA. Will someone draw Jin from Cyberbots in Ogami Ichiro’s outfit from Sakura Wars, Frank in Bruno Dillenger’s attire from Die Hard Arcade (Dynamite Deka in Japan), or go all out drawing Felicia with Sonic the Hedgehog’s gloves and shoes? The possibities are endless! The contest runs from today through Friday May 31, 9pm PST and Capcom-Unity will pick up to 3 winners for the limited edition of Project X Zone. There’s also another contest if anyone is attending MCM Expo this year for cosplaying as one of the cover characters in Project X Zone.
Sega of Japan are releasing another set of Sega All-Stars card packs, but this time with even more lineup of franchises from Sega’s past ranging from Alex Kidd, Comic Zone, to The House of the Dead and Rub Rabbits plus with a couple of obscured IPs. According to the site, the first pack will be available today through May 8th and the second pack will be available from May 8th to May 22nd. Samurai and Dragons is free to download on the Japanese PSN for PSVita. So if you have a Japanese account and you have a thing for fan service from Sega, check the game out! SEGA fans of yesteryear can rejoice as SEGA Corporation is having a two part live stream event featuring Takenobu Mitsuyoshi and his SEGA Sound Unit band, Ms. Arisa Noto (“Hello, Little Monsters”) as a guest vocal along with a special guest who was famous as a certain judo karate expert who we all know and love who beats up people for not playing the SEGA Saturn in Japan and sacrificing his life to protect us from a evil gaming company, Hiroshi Fujioka aka Segata Sanshiro. Judging from the Google translation, the event will focus on the aspects of Segata Sanshiro and new music played by the SEGA Sound Unit Band. Famous Japanese voice and stage actor Naoya Uchida, who is known as the voice and potrayer of Commander Michael Sunnyside from SEGA/RED’s fifth installment of Sakura Wars, will be turning 60 this year and to celebrate his birthday, there will be a live concert plus special guest, Dandy Dan (potrayed by Mr. Shintaro), will appear on stage. For our SEGABits readers who reside in Japan, the live birthday concert will be held on May 1st at Ebisu Switch Skylight. Hope his birthday goes out with a bang to the rooftops! (SW fans would know this)
Marza Animation Planet aka Sega Sammy Visual Entertainment has released a new trailer to the upcoming movie based on a manga comic book, Captain Harlock. The studio is also known for making Sonic: Night of the Werehog. Watch the trailer and prepare to be amazed. It’ll make you want a full theaterical Sonic film worldwide.
SEGA Corporation will be airing a 24-Hour Internet TV Broadcast on February 2nd from 6PM JST to the 3rd at 6PM JST the next day. The broadcast will feature SEGA titles including Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F, Phantasy Star Online 2, Yakuza 5 and the licensed-for-Japan title Rusty Hearts. The Internet broadcast seems to be also focused on the 20th Anniversary of the Puyo Puyo series and a time slot made specifically for Sonic Team. There are no word on this portion of the broadcast, but may include details based on the rumors of the upcoming Sonic game. Sega’s Playstation Vita game, Samurai & Dragons, crosses over special guests from the Fate/Stay Night series by TYPE MOON. We have other SEGA franchises represented as cards like the SEGA All-Stars, Valkyria Chronicles and Shining characters to use during gameplay. With Anarchy Reigns coming out in a week in a half, owners of Street Fighter X Tekken can get a taste of Bayonetta with a few modifications. In this mod, Bayonetta replaces Final Fight’s Poison with a few changes. I must say, I give props to the guy who made this mod because Bayonetta looks so kick as and makes me want a Sega and Capcom crossover game even more. What do you guys think? If All-Stars Racing Transformed Christmas gift wasn’t enough for you, another SEGA icon gets the HD treatment! This time, it’s SEGA’s early mascot, Alex Kidd, who gets to shine in a HD remake of the Sega Master System classic “Alex Kidd in Miracle World” The fan made project and sprites is redone by MCBRemakes from Brazil. With just 15 years of stage shows, the Sakura Taisen series is still going strong in Japan. A new stage show will be performed at the Aoyama Theater and features the return of the Paris Kagekidan (Flower Division) from Sakura Wars 3 who are also the voice actors for the characters in the game series. The play will also feature new variety and two new characters. There will be 3 performances live on December 28th-29th on Nico Nico Video so everyone can get a chance to see Noriko Hidaka sing “Good Morning, Boujour”. Sega has just released the Sega Ages 2500 Phantasy Star Complete Collection on PS2 Classics today just in time to celebrate the series 25th anniversary for digital download. The collection contains all 8 titles from the entire original series I-IV and the side-story games. It’s only 800 yen ($10) to download. If your interested in buying it, make sure that you have a Japanese PSN account and buy JP PSN cards from import sites or Ebay. Even though players can play the original four games on Sonic’s Ultimate Genesis Collection in English, this is a unique gift for die hard fans of the series.
