Sony’s NGP has been revealed tonight, and among the developers talking about the device was none other then SEGA’s Toshiro Nagoshi, famed – and tanned – creator of Yakuza and Monkey Ball. Yes, the video above is Yakuza of the End running on PSP2. Yes, this device is friggin awesome.
This was shown at the “Playstation Conference” to demonstrate how easy it is to port existing PS3 games to PSp2 and still keep the same quality. Nagoshi says its just a tech demo for now, not an announcement of a port.
Platinum Games has just tweeted that they will be showing something about Max Anarchy online on their website. But one new piece of info is that the game is being called Anarchy Reigns in the west.
“@platinumgames: We announced ANARCHY REIGNS (MAX ANARCHY in Japan) for PS3 and 360 today. Look for info on our website soon.”
That sort of sucks, I was actually liking the sound of ‘Max Anarchy’, even though it did remind me of Max Payne.
The Sonic Colors soundtrack, titled Vivid Sound x Hybrid Colors, is heading to both North America and Europe. If you’re expecting a sexy CD package, though, I’m here to give you bad news: this is coming here digitally.
For North America, you can already buy the album via iTunes. Europe and Japan should have them up shortly. The soundtrack will feature all 82 tracks from the game, spanning 3 discs. You can buy each disc separate, since they will be labeled ‘Vol.1 through Vol. 3’.
Price? Per track: $1.29 / £0.99, Per Disc: $9.99 / £7.99. So about $30 dollars for the full soundtrack.
Phantasy Star Portable 2 already did a Toro tie-in, and SEGA has something new planned for the extended version of the game. They added two more weapons, the Nyackle (pun on knuckles, nya is the sound of cats) and Mr. Television grenade.
Nyackle: Will be Toro and Kuro on your knuckles, when you attack they will say stuff.
Mr. Television grenade: Is the TV set from Toro Station, you will be able to throw it and make it rain washtubs.
Not only that, you will also be able to get a Mr. Television room decoration. Check out the photos of the items being used.
Valkyria Chronicles got a 400 page behind the scenes design book, but it was never released outside of Japan. Well, that was before, now Udon will be publishing the book here. You can check out the Amazon product page.
According to Amazon, the book will be released on February 8th, it looks like a good buy. Who is going to get a copy?
Check out that action figure of Elenor from PSO, pretty cute? I bet you want yourself one. Well it’s Japan only as of right now, but you can get it on AmiAmi for ¥2,530 ($31).
Seems that this figure, which was shown 8 years ago at Wonder Festival, will finally be in mass production in May 2011. The figure will be made by Kotobukiya.
[Jack from MadWorld gets a colorful make over, only on PS3 & Xbox 360]
Max Anarchy has been revealed in the latest issue of Famitsu. The game will be the first online title by Platinum Games and will be heading for both PS3 and Xbox 360. The screens above show that Jack, from Platinum Games’ violent Wii game MadWorld, will be a playable character.
The game is said to boast a ‘big number’ of online players. Not much new information. The screens do give a ‘Gears of War’ vibe, don’t you think?
[Update] More information after the jump![/update]
From Famitsu’s online store, Japanese consumers will be able to purchase a special ‘Famitsu DX bundle’ version of Yakuza of the End. The bundle will include, along with the copy of the game, an awesome-looking stainless steel tumbler.
If that wasn’t enough, Japanese consumers who pre-order the game right now will be given the “Yakuza Karaoke Best Selection” soundtrack for free.
Oh God, SEGA stop the brown war games! Check out the cover art for the Valkyria Chronicles 3 soundtrack, so mainstream! I’m being sarcastic, it looks great.
You will be able to buy (and by buy, we mean import) your copy on February 23rd for ¥3,045. The soundtrack will span 2 discs and include 37 well-crafted tunes. Check out the product page here.
I haven’t known what to think of Yuji Naka’s new game…until now. I have to say, the game play in this looks really intense. As a big fan of NiGHTS and rail shooters, this looks like something any SEGA fan should be excited about. What do you think of the trailer?
I will admit, the CGI does look rather low budget. But it’s the game play that counts, right?
Further details, courtesy of GoNintendo:

You know, being a SEGA fan is hard some times it feels like the company enjoys screwing with their fans as illustrated by the Genesis Perfect port of the AM2 Classic for iPhone.
We weren’t going to report this but UK-Resistance news post changed our mind:
NO IDEA WHAT TO SAY OR FEEL ABOUT THIS
Happy, Sad, Indifferent, Confused, Annoyed that Sarah Byrant’s tits won’t be as nice in 2d.
Funny, UK-Resistance Sega news reporting at it’s finest.
Check out their awesome coverage on the new NiGHTS INTO DREAMS game, brutally honest.
Less than a month into 2011 and already we have two games to look forward to on the Dreamcast! RedSpotGames announced the shmup Strumwind, and now NG.DEV.TEAM have announced their next game GunLord! Rene Hellwig briefly talked about it in our interview with them last year.
Very little is known of the game, aside from a teaser site and logo. However, above the logo are the words “Jump. Shoot. Explore.” as well as “A Jump N Shoot Action Game”.
Thanks to Dreamcast Junkyard reader Anthony817 for the tip!
It seems that the game is just the console version ported to arcades, doesn’t seem to have anything extra. Shame, would have been cool to have a few new characters.
Though we can’t see the character selection in the video, the uploader says that its the same game as console. This is only a beta version as well, product could change.
SEGA has just revealed that the PSP version of their upcoming Thor game, Thor: God of Thunder, will not be released.
The PSP version of Thor was being developed in-house, but don’t fear, the development has been moved to the 3DS. But with such short notice on the change, I think this game will probably be rushed… just like SEGA’s other Marvel movie games.
