Second Vanquish demo incoming

Vanquish director Shinji Mikami and producer Atsushi Inaba announced at TGS that they will be having a second demo for their game on Xbox Live and PSN. When? September 22nd. This demo will be called “Vanquish Challenge Mode Demo”.

This second demo is suppose to be for the hardcore fanbase, thus it will be more difficult.  The date is obviously for Japan, no dates for the U.S. or Europe, but if we have a repeat with the last demo announcement, we will probably get it a few days earlier than Japan. I hope!

Hideki Kamiya believes we’ll see Bayonetta again

Bayonetta will most likely end up being the best action game this generation, now with Devil May Cry having an idienty crisis and Ninja Gaiden 3 not having Tomonobu Itagaki, it seems there is not much challenge standing in her way. Soon that will not be the case, she might have to compete for the title against herself.

Someone asked Kamiya if there would be a Bayonetta 2 and he responded “I believe so.” and then responded to someone else “She’ll [Bayonetta] be back if you believe so.” I hope there is a new game, lots of potential for another amazing experience.

Rise of Nightmares: SEGA’s horror Kinect game [Update: Press Release]

SEGA has just announced a new Kinect game, during Microsoft’s keynote. The name of the new game is Rise of Nightmare.

They showed a teaser of the new game, very hard to make out what the game is suppose to be like, according to live blogs online. Some people suggested it would be a ‘on rail’ type of game. Seems like the best way to control games on Kinect. Could be a game like D, remember that game?

The game is aimed at the hardcore, a dark horror game.

ESRB says Crazy Taxi also coming to Mac and PC

ESRB has rated Crazy Taxi for Mac, PC, PSN and Xbox Live Arcade. Issue is that it has not been announced for Mac and PC yet. The game was already released on PC back in 2002.

I assume it will be up on Steam for both Mac and PC. Good news for those that own a Mac, if you own a PC, buy it again.

Vanquish Limited Edition comes with figurine

Sadly this limited edition has only been shown for the UK shop Zavvie. No collectors edition has been announced for the United States or Japan as of yet.

The limited edition comes at a price though, it will cost £54.95, the regular edition will only be costing £33.95, its almost double. So those who want the pretty box and the doll (don’t hate) will have to cough up some extra dough.

Aliens: Colonial Marines still in the works says Gearbox

Aliens: Colonial Marines has been said to be alive by Gearbox president Randy Pitchfork, who already confirmed back in February that the game was back in development. But after it missed E3 and when they announced that they where doing Duke Nukem: Forever at PAX, I just assumed the project was dead. Not so it seems.

“Earlier this week, I was down in San Francisco and I had lunch with the head of Sega of America and he is committed to this. And we’re going to make this awesome. I know it’s been awhile since the announcement first happened that we’re in for Aliens. I promise you it will not take as long as Duke Nukem Forever. We’re not going to let this dream die, it’s going to happen.”

I hope that Gearbox does not stretch itself too much. They talked about a new Brothers in Arms, new Borderlands game and a unannounced game. Quality over quantity.

VANQUISH Demo: 360 vs. PS3 build

The boys over at Digital Foundry have their hands full again, this time they sat down to judge the VANQUISH demo that came out the other day. They have confirmed this is ‘early code’ demo. .

“The key difference seems to be that the Xbox 360 goes for a conventional capped 30FPS, double-buffer approach (losing v-sync when dropping under the target frame-rate in order to maintain fluidity) whereas the PS3 game employs triple-buffering, effectively ensuring that there is not a single torn frame any time during the gameplay experience.”

Both versions run at 1024×720, with 2x multi-sampling anti-aliasing. They also say that the Xbox 360 version felt easier to control. I guess this is a personal preference since users on NeoGAF have reported the opposite.

Seems that the game will run great on both consoles, so breath easy my friends!

SEGA’s TGS 2010 line-up confirmed

SEGA has let their ‘official’ line up out of the bag, of course, they have a surprise or two they don’t want to reveal yet. This is their ‘expect to be there’ and playable games.

  • Vanquish (PS3/360)
  • Virtual On Force (360)
  • Sonic Colors (Wii/DS)
  • Phantasy Star Portable 2 Infinity (PSP)
  • Black Panther New Yakuza  Chapter (PSP)
  • Shining Hearts (PSP)
  • K-On After School Live (PSP)

Of course they will most likely have a new Phantasy Star related product (anniversary game?) and for sure the new Yakuza PS3 game.

Vanquish features suicide and M rating

ESRB has agreed and given Vanquish the M rating, for Mature audiences only. I was a bit shocked, since Mikami said he wanted to make the game about killing robots, if Halo is not rated M, why would this game?

I guess human soldiers can be killed, when they are killed or blown up, there is blood (and limbs). They also revealed that some cutscenes will have violence and one even has a random character committing suicide. As they say, assassinating himself.

Vanquish demo coming September 2nd

It seems that the Vanquish demo has been confirmed for PSN and Xbox Live on September 2nd. Only issue? Its for the Japanese store only, that this has been confirmed.

Not a big issue seeing as the game does not seem to have that much dialogue. Get your Japanese accounts ready!

UPDATE: The Sega Europe blog has just announced that the demo will hit XBLA and PSN on 31st August for North America, across Europe on 1st September and Australia on 2nd September. Check out the SEGA Europe Blog for the full description of the demo’s contents.

Vanquish: This is gonna be fun trailer

Here is the latest trailer for Vanquish, in this trailer it just has gameplay with some techno soundtrack in the background. Its amazing seeing how much is going on screen at once and frame rate stays solid.

The game will be out in October worldwide, pre-order it at some stores to receive free DLC weapon pack.

Vanquish hits Europe on October 22nd

We already know that Vanquish is hitting Japan on October 21st, but a day after, everyone in Europe will have the pleasure of getting the game. The three weapon pack will be for pre-order customers as well, only in Europe it will be selected retailers.

The DLC for pre-orders are the same as the Japanese release. That means Boost Machine Gun, Laser Canon and Anti Armor Pistol. If trend goes like the Japanese release, the pre-order DLC will be up for sale after the game comes out.

[UPDATE:] North American release date for Vanquish announced, October 19th. Take that Europe and Japan, last to be announced and first to come out. [/UPDATE]
