Lost in Time No More: SEGA’s Canceled Dreamcast MMO “Far Nation” Leaks Footage Online

Back in the day, the SEGA Dreamcast had quite the list of unreleased games, one of which was “Far Nation.” Briefly announced in 2000, Far Nation was planned to be one of the first console MMORPGs alongside Phantasy Star Online. Details about Far Nation have been scarce for over two decades. Sega only mentioned the title a handful of times before its quiet cancellation in 2001. No screenshots or gameplay details were ever officially revealed.

But now, thanks to Reddit user fuperslizzle0, we might be getting a glimpse of the game. In a post yesterday, they said:

“I’m not going to get too verbose or overbearing with this, other than to say the footage shown here is from a legit disc belonging to a friend of mine who worked at Sega during the time Farnation was in development. We sat down and “played” (or really, experimented with) the game for about 35 minutes, all of which I recorded, and these clips are all we’re prepared to share for now.

Please enjoy, and rest assured, more is coming! ;)”

Persona 6 Leak Hints at Green Color Theme, Fans Rejoice

Persona Fans Rejoice: Paint Bucket Theory Was True!

Eagle-eyed Persona fans can celebrate – their wild theory about the next game’s color scheme seems to be spot-on. Long time Persona leaker Midori spilled the beans on X/Twitter, confirming Persona 6 will rock a green theme.

This lines up perfectly with the series’ tradition of each game having a distinct color palette. Remember the blue hues of Persona 3, the sunshine vibes of Persona 4, and the fiery reds of Persona 5? Green’s the next logical step.

But wait, there’s more! This leak validates a crazy fan theory bouncing around since 2022. Back then, anniversary artwork featured all the Persona heroes against a graffiti wall. Notably, a bucket of mysterious green paint sat there, sparking speculation about a green-themed Persona 6 (despite the wall itself lacking much green). See that photo:

Resonance of Fate rated in Germany for PlayStation 4 and PC

It looks like the SEGA and tri-Ace developed JRPG Resonance of Fate might be coming back to life on PlayStation 4 and PC soon since it looks like tri-Ace has filed for a rating via the German classification board.

Resonance of Fate came out all the way back in 2010 on both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. At the time, SEGA made a big deal about Resonance of Fate because it was during a period that the company wanted to expand its JRPG catalogue. According to the rating, tri-Ace is looking to publish this ‘re-release’ themselves, considering SEGA’s name is absent. Going to be weird considering some of the in-game assets (like the shirt in the photo above) has SEGA’s logo all over them.

Alpha build of Ecco II: Sentinels of the Universe leaked

Ecco the Dolphin is a familiar face for SEGA fans, appearing in 4 different games and gaining a bit of a cult following due to it’s bizarre and surprisingly dark premise of a dolphin traveling through time to save his comrades from evil aliens. What many people didn’t know is that there was a fifth game in the series that was in development, acting as a sequel to the Dreamcast game Ecco the Dolphin: Defenders of the Universe. The game titled Ecco II: Sentinels of the Universe started in development sometime in 2001-2000, around the time the Dreamcast was on it’s last legs, with the build leaked in particular being made on February 19th, 2001. The game did not reach far into development, not receiving press coverage of any type and being silently cancelled when SEGA started to move away from the console business, though Ecco the Dolphin: Defenders of the Universe receiving mixed reception may of also contributed to the cancellation.

The crossover chaos continues in Project X Zone 2: Brave New World for Nintendo 3DS

Project-X-Zone-1

Project X Zone, the 2012 crossover for the Nintendo 3DS which threw together SEGA, Bandai Namco and Capcom characters into an epic adventure, is set to return! According to a report from website e-duessee, a sequel is in the works for the 3DS entitled Project X Zone 2: Brave New World. The article itself is a report of an April 7th Bandai Namco press event held in Milan at which the game was announced alongside another unannounced title, Saint Seiya: Soldiers’ Soul for the PS4, PS3, and PC. The original article has since been edited to remove the mentions of the games (whoops!) but thankfully NeoGAF caught it before the removal.

What are your thoughts on another Project X Zone title? Have any characters you’d like to see make an appearance? I’m hoping to see Mega Man, Pac-Man and Sonic, as well as an expanded SEGA cast including Ryo Hazuki and some 1980s characters.
