Virtua Tennis on Playstation Vita has exclusive content

Just like its Playstation 3 big brother, the Playstation Vita port coming around the launch of the new handheld, will have exclusive content. Here is a trailer showing it off and some details.

  • Touch Controls: Consoles had motion, this version has touch. Regular and touch controls will always be on together, so you can use both at the same time.
  • Touch Vs. Mode: A top down versus match against another player, played on a single Vita system.
  • VR Match Mode: Virtual Reality or ‘First Person’ view tennis will use the Vita’s gyroscopes for movements.
  • Rock The Boat minigame: Test your skill as you hit targets on a rocking boat.
  • Camera (augmented reality): Details on how SEGA will use augmented reality have not been detailed. But we do see the cameras at work in the create a character, with ‘face scanning’. Nice.

So if you haven’t picked up Virtua Tennis 4 on consoles, this might be one of the best options. Though, I don’t know how much I will use touch controls myself.

ESRB has rating for Crush 3D

When Crush was released back in 2007, it didn’t get that much hype, even though it ended up being one of my favorite games on the PSP. Now it will get a second chance on the Nintendo 3DS. We posted about it coming awhile back, now ESRB has rated the title.

This is a puzzle platformer in which players collect marbles to activate exits and complete each level. As players run and jump through each colorful environment, they can toggle between 2D and 3D perspectives to navigate platforms. Players’ ‘cartoony’ character cries out and loses a life if he falls off tall platforms or is struck by roaming enemies (e.g., giant blocks, slugs). In some sequences, players can use large blocks or balls to squash giant cockroaches; defeated bugs emit large splashes of yellow liquid that stain the ground.

Now all we need is a press release, official release date and we can finally get hyped. The game got a E 10+ rating. That means you should get 4 copies for each one of your children.

Yakuza of The End Shown on Next Sony Portable, NGP

Sony’s NGP has been revealed tonight, and among the developers talking about the device was none other then SEGA’s Toshiro Nagoshi, famed – and tanned – creator of Yakuza and Monkey Ball. Yes, the video above is Yakuza of the End running on PSP2. Yes, this device is friggin awesome.

This was shown at the “Playstation Conference” to demonstrate how easy it is to port existing PS3 games to PSp2 and still keep the same quality. Nagoshi says its just a tech demo for now, not an announcement of a port.

Crush being ported to the 3DS? [Update]

Crush is one of the most underrated SEGA published games this generation. It was released on the PSP and received no hype, which is too bad. It is a great game that EVERYONE should play.

It seems that SEGA will give the franchise another chance, posted at GoNintendo, SEGA will be porting the PSP title to 3DS. I think that Crush would be prefect for the 3DS, with its touch pad and 3D visuals. Filing it as a rumor till we get a SEGA go ahead that it’s official.

We have been told by SEGA that this is indeed true, no press release or details to share right now.

SEGA says no to Sonic 4 for Android phones

According to the NPD, Android OS is the top selling OS in America right now. Given this sudden surge in popularity, you would think SEGA would want to port their big Sonic 4 game to the platform?

I guess not, according to Ripten, who spoke with SEGA employees in a recent Sonic Colors  event, SEGA has no plans on porting this game to Android. What a drag, no SEGA love for Android users. Maybe Google can throw money at them. God knows that Android market needs some good games.

Crazy Taxi trailer, release date confirmed and release details

SEGA has confirmed some stuff we already knew. This ‘Dreamcast’ port (actually PC port, but whatever) comes in high-definition 720p, true widescreen, has leaderboards, and achievements/trophies.

The game will feature both arcade and original mode. Crazy Box makes a comeback with its 16 mini-games. Dates? This game hits for American PSN users first on Novemeber 23rd and then the next day American XBLA along with European and Australian users get to play.The game will be priced at $9.99 (£6.29/ €7.99/ AU$ 12.95)  or 800 Microsoft Points.

PS3: It only does Dreamcast games

If you haven’t been in the loop, the Playstation 3 got jail broken with a USB device. After it was jail broken strange new articles started popping up. One said that jailbroken PS3’s could play PS2 games.

If that wasn’t great, a couple of guys have decided to port NullDC (Dreamcast emulator) to the Playstation 3. Apparently they got the bios running. No YouTube video or pictures have been posted, that is why its a rumor.  Sadly the emulator does not play sound yet. To check out the code, hit the source site.
