Jaret Reddick of Bowling For Soup releases a new recording of Sonic Unleashed theme with some special guests

Jeret Reddick, the lead singer of the pop punk rock band Bowling For Soup, has fired shots straight in our childhood feels with his shadow dropped cover of Endless Possibility, the theme song from Sonic Unleashed originally performed by himself.

Often misattributed to Bowling For Soup as a whole, the song was performed originally by musicians at Sega, including Sonic Unleashed’s main composer Tomoya Ohtani, while the lyrics were written and recorded by Jaret Reddick. This time, he and one of his bandmates, Rob Felicetti, have returned with cover band Punk Rock Factory and Wheatus (Best known for their hit song Teenage Dirtbag (2000)) to bless us with a new, independently recorded version of the beloved song, including a music video uploaded to the official Bowling For Soup YouTube channel. It’s an unexpected surprise, but as the song goes, the possibilities are neverending.

Melodies Zone celebrates Sega’s 65th anniversary with a new fan remix album

June 3rd was the 65th anniversary of our lord and master favorite video game developer and publisher, Sega, and to celebrate the occasion, the video game fan cover music label Melodies Zone is releasing an all new Sega album. Melodies Zone’s new Sega fan remix album, simply titled “Sega 65th Anniversary”, contains 20 fan covers from Sega’s storied history, from artists like Kamikaze Bitch, A-bug, Chief Takinawa, and Klaymore.

From Sonic to Shenmue to Super Hang-On, you’ll hear some of your favorite songs in a new light thanks to these talented and passionate fan musicians. Expect a lot of loud metal guitar, thumping dance beats and synths, vocals for the songs that have them originally, and one relaxing lo-fi remix to sit down and take a breather to after 19 more exciting tracks kept your heart pumping.

Dj CUTMAN’s “Spindash” – a Sonic the Hedgehog fan-made remix album available now!

The Sonic the Hedgehog franchise is not new to fan-made remix albums, and given the quality of Sonic music, I can’t blame the many artists out there for being inspired to put their spin on classic tracks. But every once in a while a really special remix album hits, and Dj CUTMAN’s “Spindash” is one of those. The album, licensed by SEGA, is a fitting tribute to SEGA’s blue mascot featuring diverse styles of music and even ventures outside of the 16-bit era to remix tunes from Sonic Adventure 2 and Sonic Colors.

“Spindash” is available now on Loudr, iTunes, Amazon and Google Play. Dj CUTMAN performed at this past weekend’s MAGFest, and SEGAbits was there! We’ll have coverage from the event up on the site soon, in the meantime check out the album and after the break, read the press release.

Emerald Hill Zone theme remade in WarioWare D.I.Y.

WarioWare D.I.Y. for the Nintendo DS allows users to create their own minigames, which also means creating the music for them. So savvy internet users have decided to create great tracks and upload them on the YouTube.
