Conduit 2 coming in Feburary, watch new trailer as you wait

Above is the new trailer for Conduit 2, showing off its split screen multiplayer and weapons you will be seeing next year.

SEGA stats the reason for the delay is fan feedback, apparently some studios delay games to add stuff fans want. I didn’t know this, hopefully its better than the first title.

Chu Chu Rocket gets release date & more information

If you have one of them hipster Apple devices, like the iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad, you will be able to purchase Chu Chu Rocket on October 28th. Not that long of a wait!

SEGA has stated that this is a ‘brand new’ game, designed for the iPad and iPhone in mind. The game will not be a universal app, for those owners of more than one of the devices. The iPad version also has some exclusive features, like 4 player same-screen multiplayer. Make sure they all wash their hands.

Some negative news: Apparently local mutliplayer causes lag, almost a full second worth of lag. Lets hope that SEGA showed off an old build and this is not the cause in the full release.

HYPE: Famitsu gives Vanquish near perfect score

Even though everyone dislikes Famitsu, it is the second magazine to review the game and its another positive hit for SEGA and Platinum Games. The magazine gave the game a 9/9/10/9. Famitsu has four people give a score and adds it up for a total. The game got a 37, three points shy from getting a perfect score.

The first review for the game was done by PLAY UK, which gave the title a 93 out of 100. They stated “Vanquish is about as good as action gaming can get.” Get hyped, Vanquish launches in the end of the month, worldwide.

Phantasy Star Portable 2 Infinity allows user created quests

SEGA has decided to add a little something new for story missions in Phantasy  Star Portable 2 Infinity. Since the game will use some of the same missions, now users can set their own missions with difficulty levels that range from 1 to 30.

The game turns mission discs, found in the game to parameters for custom missions. You can set stuff like having monsters with low HP, high experience points and even high drop rate. There are over 100 mission codes to collect in the full game. Once you make your custom mission, it will be labeled as yours.

You can play the missions solo or share them online via infrastructure mode. Phantasy Star Porbable 2 Infinity comes out in Japan on February 24, 2011. No western release announcement has been made.

Toshihiro Nagoshi is now on TV

Toshihiro Nagoshi, producer for the Yakuza series and Super Monkey Ball games is now a TV star. Well, he is a guest star on the TV show for Black Panther Yakuza New Chapter.

Nagoshi stated on his blog that he will not be a regular on the show, only appearing in some episodes.

This is the first time that Nagoshi has appeared in a TV show, but he has been on TV before. If you recall him being in the Sony Playstation 3 advert.

Virtual On Force limited edition detailed

The main reason that Virtual On Force became a retail title and not a downloadable, according to SEGA, was to make a limited edition to honor Virtual On’s 15th year anniversary.

The Limited Edition will be called the “Virtual On Force Memorial Box 15”. It will come with a soundtrack CD that spans six discs and 218 tracks. It also comes with a booklet that has 140 pages, this includes arcade and console product images, promotional art, pre-design images for mechs, past interviews with Jurou Wataru (series producer) and Hajime Katoki (mechanical designer).

That is not all, SEGA is also packing two Tangram-themed super balls into the package. The boxart for the limited edition is also diffrent, being done by Hajime Kotaki. The limited edition isn’t cheap, costing at ¥12,900 (about $156 USD).

Outrun Online Arcade pulled from PSN

I think we finally got some light as to why Outrun Online Arcade never came out in the US on PSN, since SEGA has now pulled it from the European PSN store after 18 months on the market. Has to do with licensing issues with Ferrari.

“Due to the expiry of the contract with Ferrari, Outrun Online Arcade will remain offline on PSN but will still be available on XBLA until Dec 2011,” – SEGA Rep

Could have gave us a bit of a warning, right? Seems that the license is still OK for Xbox, all the way till 2011. Though, from the sound of the quote, SEGA does not plan on re-licensing the brand and this probably means no more Outrun. Shame.

First Sonic 4 Splash Hill act 1 speed run

This is the first speed run for Sonic 4, Splash Hill Zone Act 1 in a little over 40 seconds. Are you a bad enough dude to beat this speed run?

Good video to take tips from and try to approve upon. Good luck, you will need it.

Sonic levels that should be in Sonic Anniversary

Picking out your favorite Sonic levels is like picking out your favorite child, sometimes its easy because someone failed math and other times its difficult to do, because you hate them all equally.

We have decided to take a crack at compiling a list of Sonic levels we would like to see in Sonic Anniversary (If the details turn out to be true and they seem like they will). I will only go through the main console series, way too many Sonic games to go through spin offs and handhelds.

This is our opinion, if you have some stages not mentioned, give us a comment letting us know how wrong our opinions are.

Sonic Colours trailer – Hover and Rocket

Colour me excited… Get it, colour? I’ll stop.

Yes, Sega have released yet another Sonic Colours trailer. This one focuses on the Hover and Rocket power ups. Boy does it look sweet!

What I see in Sonic Colours that I did not see in Sonic Unleasheds ‘day levels’ is more verity. Instead of just running though levels as fast as possibly, which is not what I enjoy or look for in a Sonic game at all. There is genuine platforming, little mini games, new paths to find and puzzles mid level. This makes the game far more interesting and something I hope becomes a staple of all new Sonic games.

Sonic Colours looks better and better with every trailer I see. I haven’t been as excited for a Sonic game since I was swayed to buy Phantasy Star Online before Skies of Arcadia even when my original plan was to buy Skies of Arcadia first. Simply because PSO came with a Sonic Adventure 2 demo.

Note: I bought Skies of Arcadia a week later. Loved both.

Sonic Topps Trading Cards: The Best and the Weirdest Stickers

Back in 1993 when Sonic ruled the merchandising world, a major trading card company called Topps joined in the fun and released a sixty-six card set of Sonic cards. While I only just recently picked up a complete set off eBay, I remember vividly buying as many packs as I could when the cards released. Sadly, I was only able to obtain half the set and since then the little case holding the cards was lost in the shuffle of growing up. However the cards do still exist somewhere in my parents house, perhaps in the same box that contains my Sonic 1 and 2 strategy guides and official Sonic Archie comics art. But enough crying about my misplaced SEGA treasures, lets take a look at the cards!

SEGA teasing 33 titles at IAAPA

SEGA will have quite the arcade line-up at this year’s IAAPA. They have put out a press release that they will have 33 arcade machines at the show. 14 of those arcades will be ticket redemption games, 12 video game arcades, 3 will be coin pushers, 3 prize vendors, and one of them will be a photo booth.

Some of the games are easy to spot via US arcade vendors like BMI Gaming. They tease that SEGA has a Monkey Ball game, so that will be a brand new title probably shown at the show. Guess that trademark for Super Monkey Ball Ticket Blitz makes sense now.
IAAPA will be in Orlando, FL on the week of November 15th. Who is going to go?
