SEGAbits Swingin’ Report Show: Episode #2

Alright, so we did promise to make the show a weekly thing, the only problem is that recording the past 2 weeks lead to nothing; mostly because of my awesomely lame internet company.

This week I sat down with Aki-at and SEGA Uranus to discuss some SEGA news and Shenmue. I understand that my volume sounds low, we are sorry about that. Seems to do it to the person that records, we promise to fix this issue next week.

Community Review: Bayonetta

This is one of our first ‘community reviews’, basically someone from our community does a review for a SEGA game. This time it was long time member (well, as long as we have been around) SEGA Uranus. He was also on this weeks podcast, which should be up later tonight.

Sega Rally car in real life!

A member of the AtariAge forum has ‘pimped his ride’ turning his plain white Toyota Celica into a replica of the Sega Rally Celica ST205 GT-Four.

“Every time you drive a car in a video game, you want it just a little. Age, make, model, condition — when you’re spanking something across a digital landscape, none of these things matter. And if you owned an ST205-chassis Celica and happened to be a game freak, you’d probably think about doing something like this.”

Make sure to check out more info and pictures of the car HERE!

Yakuza 4 demo hits Japanese PSN

If you have a Japanese PSN account and can’t wait to try out the next Yakuza installment, now is your chance to try out the demo. The demo is available for free on the Japanese PSN. Enjoy!

I can’t tell you much about the demo other than its 1.8gb in size, so make some room. I’m actually downloading it as I type this.

First Vanquish screenshots released

Lets be honest, you can’t see anything on those blurry screenshots released in the Famitsu magazine; so the boys at Platinum Games have decided to release screens for the game.

I got to be honest, this game looks a ton better than Lost Planet, color me interested; especially after seeing it will have fast combat. To see the rest of the shots and description of the game, hit the jump!

Vanquish coming to PS3 and Xbox 360

The Famitsu magazine (same one that showed the new Project Diva game) also has an interview with Shinji Mikami, director of Vanquish. He confirms that the game will be out by Winter 2010 (at least in Japan) and that it is not a ‘normal’ shooter. You won’t be shooting humans, only robots.

One thing I do see in the magazine though, is that it is a multi-platform game, not an exclusive as rumored before. Maybe this PS3 port will be better than Bayonetta? I hope so. Also screens make it look like a fast paced 3rd person shooter.

SEGA takes top 3 spots on PC charts

[SEGA takes all, sorry!]

SEGA must be really proud of themselves, they have now taken over the PC charts, by stealing the top 3 spots. First came in Napoleon: Total War, which debuted at number one, then came Football Manager 2010 at number two (last week it came in at three, so an improvement) and at number three came in Aliens vs Predator; which dropped 2 spots since last week.

Really good week for SEGA of Europe, lets hope the keep it up.  To see the full top 10 chart, click the jump.

Yakuza 4 commercial

Here is the Yakuza 4 commercial that is airing in Japan, all 15 seconds of it. I love how the Japanese man just screams at you. What is he saying?

Narrator: “This is the record of the miracle of passionate men. That moving feeling! Ryu ga Gotoku” Kazuma: “Talk to the fists,”

I don’t really understand Japanese adverts, but OK.

360 Gamer rates Sonic Adventure XBLA port

SEGA might not have revealed Sonic Adventure for XBLA, but it seems that 360 Gamer magazine has already done a review for the title. They say that the port has no extras and its basically Sonic Adventure DX on your 360.

If you wanted to know, they gave the game a 5 out of 10, stating “really hasn’t aged well.” Oh well, I guess we can skip this one.

ESRB gives out more Sonic 4 info

“Like this, but in 3-D”

The ESRB has let some tiny bits of info slipped about Sonic 4, problem is that it just sounds like classic Sonic, which sounds very good.

This is a side-scrolling adventure game in which players zoom through themed levels, collect gold rings, and jump on tiny robot enemies. Players earn points for collecting “power-ups” and freeing tiny animals that are trapped in the robots.

During boss battles at the end of levels, players may encounter an arch nemesis in a mechanical device that gets charred and emits some flames when damaged.

Freeing tiny animals? Sounds good to me.
