Is it weird that my eyes are tearing?

CLASSIC SONIC?!!!!!! NO FUCKING WAY!!!! AHWHAWHAHWHAWHAHWAHHAWHAHWAHWHAWHAWHAHWHAWHAW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. I'm getting an Epic Mickey vibe from it, very cool!

  3. Pao says:

    CLASSIC SONIC!?!1 BLACK EYES!!1!??

It's great to see the old design in 3D after all the fan demand, however, I am not excited until see some gameplay.

  4. Suzuki Yu says:

i am really really curious about the gameplay system.

i think they will go with different mechanics for each SONIC.

classic sonic with classic gameplay style and moves like spin-dash.

modern sonic with Unleashed style and abilities like homing attack.

    this is brilliant!

  5. DCGX says:

I am cautiously optimistic, yet very excited! YAY!!

  6. While not confirmed, Sonic Generations seems to be a very fitting title now.

  7. STORM! says:

Oh no… I dont want the classic Sonic design back -__-

    Never wanted it!

  8. STORM! thinks it's opposite day!

Very interested. Even more than that, I'd love to see this same CG team make a feature length film like what we got out of Night of the Werehog. It just looks so right.

Anyhow, enough of my own unrelated thoughts! Very VERY hyped.

  10. Better yet, I'd love to see a series of unlockable CG shorts in the game. Like the ones in Unleashed, but more of them.

  11. Radrappy says:

    love it

  12. SOUP says:

    Looks great :D.

Going by the trailer, looks like the drifting and sliding from Unleashed and Colors will be back :D.

This trailer gave me a nice fuzzy feeling that a Sonic trailer hasn't done in awhile. Yeah yeah, no game play, but this trailer still gives us a nice taste. Going by how good Colors was and how much potential Unleashed had, this should be awesome.

I think the classic model's more symbolic, I doubt the entire game will feature the classic Sonic model, that'd kind of a step backwards.

I like green-eyed Sonic better, but it'll be interesting to see how they work Classic Sonic into the game.

  15. One interesting comment I read online was fully 3D classic Sonic stages, and then fully 2D (2.5D) modern Sonic stages. Sort of a flip flop. It's an interesting idea. Imagine a 2.5D City Escape, and a 3D Chemical Plant Zone.

  16. Sharky says:

Loved the trailer it met with my expectations of the logical next step they would take after the Sonic 4 Epiosde 1 back lash.

Very good stuff, excited to see gameplay!

@nSega54, I suspect it is hinting that you will be able to choose to play as Modern or Classic Sonic… I'm exctied for the prospect!

Not least because I'm sick to death of lame Sonic fanboys stinking up the internet complaining about characters model and eye colours.

  17. -nSega54- says:

    Gamespot didn't get it:

"Interestingly, at its conclusion, Sonic meets up with what appears to be a clone of himself. The only difference between the two characters is Sonic's eyes are green and the other's lack a hue. "

    Heh.

  18. CosmicCastaway says:

I am incredibly excited for this. I'll be preordering this game the moment I am able to. Blue Blur Forever!

  19. I completely forgot about the potential for a special edition box. Really hoping SEGA does something cool, like a soundtrack/booklet combo or something.

  20. George says:

I stopped reading IGN and Gamespot in 2002. I only go there to watch E3 streams. WORD.

  21. Sega Uranus says:

The complete lack of rolling and the weird un-Sonic like music kind of scare me, but everything else seems completely fine. It may still not feel like what most of us know as Sonic, but I do not hate the newer style.

The classic Sonic model is also kind of strange looking, but I honestly have high hopes this will not be outrageously crazy garbage… Wait… No Wii?

  22. Shigs says:

I think the classic model looks AWESOME! He's way more animated than skinny Sonic. Part of wishes they'd keep him and get rid of modern Sonic.

Hey, lookey! I finally gots me an Avatar!

  23. I've actually grown to really like the current design of modern Sonic. Ask me back in 2001-2006 what I thought, and I'd say I hated modern Sonic's design, but now I like it. Especially the big action figure of him: http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_hk6hssCBbEc/TPvr2uzboMI

So yeah, best of both worlds! Great classic Sonic meets great modern Sonic!

  24. Sharky says:

The way the new Sonic looks in Sonic Colours is perfectly fine to me, they can keep that modern sonic and I'll be fine.

The 'modern design' has actually changed multiple times over the past decade, the Sonic 06 one was the worst but the Sonic Adventure 2 design was pretty crap too with its stupid 'soap shoes' and tall skinny nonsense.

The worst in my opinion, though was that weird bight, shiney look of Sonic in Sonic Heroes.

So yeah, if they stick with the model they used in Sonic Unleashed, Colours and even Sonic 4 then I'm totally fine with it. It's a good model.

    Haha IGN got it tho.

  26. SMT_Xero says:

    one word. fangasm.

  27. Sharky says:

    @ Sega Uranus

    "The complete lack of rolling"

He rolls directly after he slides.

  28. Fallout911 says:

    AMAZING!!

    SEGA is listening!
