Sonic Anniversary Trailer – Through the Ages

A trailer which shows some of Sonics greatest highlights through the 20 years since his creation, most of the worst offenders in the series were tastefully left off of this video although Sonic 06 managed to sneak its way in there. Interestingly Sonic 4 was not included but thankfully Sonic Colours was, awesome!

Very excited for Sonic Generations, do us proud Sega!

This really should of been the first trailer for Sonic Generations. Would of been much more epic.

Pretty sweet trailer! Though the music fading in and out was a bit distracting. It was like somebody was messing with the bass and treble knobs on a car stereo.

Bonus points for using Dreamcast footage for SA1&2!

Well they did have hints of sonic 4 in there. For when they introduced each game it kinda had that sonic 4 background.

Btw, that's a great remix of sa2 theme song.

I am pretty sure these will be all of the games represented in Sonic Generations. Weird how Secret Rings and Colors are there but 4 is not, regardless of how it turned out. It is pretty obvious SEGA is embarrassed by it in some way.

I will also go out on a limb and say that the assets around the logos are for Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode II.

Yeah, it was very weird to see Sonic 4 left out, though perhaps SEGA doesn't consider it officially completed thus don't want to flaunt it just yet. Should the final episode of Sonic 4 hit in the next few years, then the game will get a spot on the list.

Sonic 4's absence from Generations is also probably due to it being incomplete, plus it doesn't have much of an identity yet. Tossing Lost Labyrinth or Mad Gear into Generations would be unnecessary, since those zones are basically HD remixes of classic zones already. Episodes II onwards will surely have an identity though. I just wish SEGA got around to releasing more S4E2 details.
