Fighters Segamix: X-Men: Children of the Atom

Episode 2 of Fighters Segamix has arrived! This week, “It’s Mahvel Baybee!” as we are looking at the first in long line of Marvel 2-D Fighters from Capcom, “X-Men: Children of the Atom”. An old school classic with your favorite mutants (except Cyclops because he’s a hypocritical jerk).

I read the first 20 issues of X-Men and Cyclops was awesome and Wolverine did not exist.

I haven’t read the recent comics but Cyclops is way better then Wolverine, from what I saw in The original Animated Series.

One, relax. it’s more of a joke than anything. I’m not that serious over comic book characters.

Two, Cyclops has never had much of a personality. Went from being Xavier’s lapdog, to joining Magneto in some cult, used the Phoenix force to kill Xavier and almost wiped out the earth.

Three, fought Captain America. I you’re in a position where Captain America is having to fight you, then you’re fucking wrong.

Four, the first 20 issues of X-Men are boring as shit. It went into reprints for years until Chris Claremont revived it.

    Also, this.

Cut Cyclops a break. You forget when his girlfriend/wife died, had his mind twisted by Apocalypse? I think it’s interesting for him to become the very thing he once was fighting against instead of just being an outright boyscout all throughout the comic.

I sweared as a joke as well. Similar to how you were cursing in the videos.

I haven’t read that part of the comic, so no comment.
As far as TAS was concerned Cyclops was awesome. As far as the first 2 X-Men and even the third one is concerned Cyclops’s character was just right.

If you want to know what happened to Psylocke she died for a short period of time then got resurrected and started dating Archangel.

  5. I’ve been collecting these Saturn Fighting games too. I like that you’re reviewing them, but can you cut back on “A.K.A”?
