SEGA reveals Hi☆sCoool! SEGA Hard Girls Anime

A few months ago, SEGA has announced that they were green-liting a new anime project based on SEGA Hard Girls, a group of female humanoid consoles based on SEGA’s hardware consoles. Now, a brand new preview of the anime has been released titled Hi☆sCoool! セハガール (SEGA Hard Girls) produced by TMS Entertainment, known for their work on other SEGA related anime adaptations such as Virtua Fighter, Sonic X, & Hero Bank.

The plot centers around the SEGA Hard Girls (MegaDrive, Saturn, & Dreamcast) who all are enrolled in the Tokyo Haneda and Torii to “Sehagaga Gakuen” as they are issued a challenge for graduation credits from dubious teacher. To clear the problem, they must enter the game world of SEGA featuring tons of cameos. But can they graduate successfully?

logo_hrb2

With Hero Bank successful in Japan with the 3DS title receiving great amount of sells and views from the anime series, SEGA is working on a sequel to the title with a brand new character joining Kaito (Enter the Gold) and Nagare (Dominion Dollar) in Hero Battles. The sequel also features a tag battle mode to play with your friends.

The story takes place two months after the events of Hero Bank. Kaito prevented the ambitions of Adachi and must face a new challenge to face the Seven Clothes Gods by receiving a special mission from Prime Minister Nagata Musaku.

For those who are able to purchase the game early will receive a bonus of a QR code to unlock Sutsu Shi Fu.

We hope that SEGA of America could localize the first game and bring the anime series to a cartoon station in the West soon. The concept of Hero Bank is very unique and the anime is pretty good show to watch.

The game is set for release on November 27, 2014 for the Nintendo 3DS. Artwork and screenshots are available to view by hitting the jump button.

Update: It seems Archie’s subscription page was posted too soon, as the page is now down and IGN has posted an official exclusive (whoops!) unveiling of the new series. Also, the premiere issue will have four variant covers that link up when you put them next to each other (seen after the break). SEGA and IGN promise that more will be revealed during next week’s San Diego Comic Con. In a short interview with Flynn and Stanley, the first story arc has been revealed to be 80 pages long and “sets the comical, whimsical tone for the series”. The duo also promised that the series will feature “some over-arching stuff going on from issue to issue that builds up to some REALLY awesome happenings a little later on down the line.”

Original article: Archie Comics  has just announced that it is developing a new comic book adaptation of the upcoming Sonic Boom TV series and video games. This adaptation will be its own stand alone series outside of the Archie continuity. Below is a description of the new Sonic comic series taken from Archie’s site.
