Petition: Asking SEGA for remastered versions of the Panzer Dragoon games

The guys over at The Will of the Ancients have posted up a very good petition, one that asks SEGA to remaster the past Panzer Dragoon games for current generation consoles. Not to mention the recent passing of artist Jean Giraud, now is the perfect time for SEGA to bring these classics back. You want them, I want them. Sign the petition below!

eBay: The complete US Master System collection

No, I’m not going to start heckling my crap to you guys, plus this isn’t crap. If there are any girlfriends or moms reading this and saying that video games are crap, then this is crap I want. All over me. The collection includes a US Master System with 114 US Master System games. Impressive!

Happiestsellever!, you can thank me for the shout out later. Check his auction here. Yeah, the dude wants almost 5 grand for the whole thing. Is it worth it? How much would you pay?

Sonic the Hedgehog is faster than lighting

Can you see Sonic going super speed? Most people would assume he would be a sexy blurry mess. Well, Reddit user josepheatsbrains used the power of the brush to bring this painting alive. Not a super difficult piece, but I like the look of brush strokes.

If you guys stumble upon any other great fan made projects, throw us a line or post them in the comment section!

Say “I Love You” SEGA Style With These SEGAbits Valentines!

Flowers, candy and an expensive meal got nothing on these SEGA themed Valentines! Consider these our gift to you, and your key to a successful Valentine’s Day. Once you give one of these babies to the man or woman of your dreams, they’ll be asking to join you in a game of Samba de Amigo Version 2000’s “Love Love” mode or beg you to play some Heart Attack mode in Outrun Online Arcade. What you do after that is up to you. Happy Valentine’s Day!

The Website of the Dead launches, prepare to suffer like G did

Kori-Maru from our forums has launched his newest blog and it’s all about The House of the Dead. He is striving to make his blog the number one go to site for all things House of the Dead, so if you guys have any feedback or would like to help him out, leave your comments in the comment box.

The Website of the Dead joins other fan sites created for a specific franchise. Like NiGHTSintoDreams, Shining Force Central and even an Outrun site. I’m a SEGA fan and I love these little sites that have fans that are passionate about the games and write tons of articles on little stuff most of us would miss. The House of the Dead III comes out on PSN tomorrow for $6.99, are you ready?

Sonic 2 logo made out of 24,651 beads

If you guys didn’t know, I have an addiction to Reddit. Yesterday, Reddit user synbios16 posted his Sonic 2 logo (picture above), he made it out of 24,651 little beads. Just for scale he put one bead on the right and the Sonic 2 cartridge on the left. I have to say, that would look good hanging on any wall.

Valkyria Chronicle’s Selvaria gets recreated in Soulcalibur V

We already know that Namco wants to have a crossover game with SEGA, but if you can’t get the big blue to agree at least you can add a create a fighter feature. Here is someone recreating Selvaria from SEGA’s fan favorite game Valkyria Chronicles.

In the same post over at Siliconera they have more recreated video game characters, so if creating characters is your thing you should head over there.

Sonic Generations PC Mod Brings Back Old Friends

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ILGkVbNrB5s

Do you miss the good ol’ days of the Sonic franchise when you could play as Tails, Knuckles and all the other secondary characters? After a bit of modding to the PC version of Sonic Generations, a Russian Sonic fan has brought back the supporting cast by dropping them into modern Sonic’s stages. The video above shows off Shadow, Tails, Rouge, Blaze, Amy and Knuckles running through Crisis City. They may not have their signature moves (yet) but they appear to be fully functional. After the break, more videos of the sidekicks stealing Sonic’s thunder.

Sonic Generations Lost CG Intro

Leading up to the release of Sonic Generations, a number of trailers appeared showing various CG footage. Fans assumed that all of these elements would combine to be the game’s CG intro, however when the game released the only CG featured was the initial teaser footage of classic and modern meeting in Green Hill. I’ve combined all the CG elements that I know of into an extended “lost” intro. Enjoy!

Update: Revised the video to include a bit of new footage found in a Japanese commercial.

Fancomic: The Sonic Eggs Christmas Special!

Merry Christmas everyone! What many of you may not be aware of is that I’m not just a staff writer on Sega Bits. I’m also a staff writer on Sonic Stadium and have my own (currently on hiatus) Sonic webcomic, Sonic Eggs. It’s a Sonic X parody comic I’m very proud of and am very lucky to have had some Archie comic talent working on it thanks to my producer Nuckles87. Last year, one of those projects I was able to do was a short X-Mas story with art by Sonic Universe artist (and current writer) Tracy Yardley! (BTW, the exclamation point is his thing.) Click to read the comic and also an explanation on a character you may not be familiar with.

Check out this Alex Kidd remake in LittleBigPlanet 2

Sony’s Little Big Planet titles have had many remakes featured in the fan made content, but check out this particularly impressive remake of Alex Kidd by one fan, made in Little Big Planet 2. The art direction, level design, music and gameplay tries to stay as close to the title as possible. One now can only wonder what a new release of SEGA’s fallen mascot may have looked if it came out in this day and age.

Check out this Sonic sleeve tattoo

@RossDixon4 tweeted us a picture of his Sonic sleeve. When I usually see Sonic related tattoos I get pretty disapointed, it seems that the artist always seems to screw up the design. This one is pretty well done and I like this Sonic design. This is some dedication right here, a whole sleeve? Well done! Would you ever get a Sonic or SEGA related tattoo?

Let’s Go to the “Sonic Generation” Art Show in Philadelphia!

When Gagaman of SEGA Memories wrote about the “Sonic Generation” fan art show in Philadelphia, PA, I knew I had to make the long trek to check it out. Grabbing my old near-broken digital camera (my new one is being repaired), I headed out into the tepid weather and braved the 9 minute subway ride to the Brave New Worlds comic book shop. The show, which is actually rather small despite the spiffy website, features various renditions of Sonic, Tails and Eggman from a variety of artists. Located in the outer lobby of Brave New Worlds, the gallery takes up what usually would have been a blank wall.
